I listed 3 large cans of Lysol for auction starting at $9.95 and a Buy It Now price of $74.95. I had a buyer pay for two of my listing paying the $74.95 for each. Ebay emails me payment confirmation and to ship both orders. I go to post office first thing next morning and ship both orders and file the tracking number with Ebay and buyer. Then I get an email from Ebay the payment is on HOLD.
I checked listings prior to putting up my own auctions. I saw hundreds of auctions and sold auction with much higher prices then the price I listed. Why is my auctions being put on hold and buyers returned their payments AFTER I shipped some of my orders. What is a FAIR price for Lysol? Please I can't afford to ship items and pay shipping cost and not get paid for items I shipped. Many sellers like myself have to go to the post office at risk of getting infected, is it really to much to ask for $20 to $30 for one large can of Lysol?

Are you serious?

Maybe the end result of this will be that you helped someone in need at minimal cost to yourself and your self respect. I hope you are able to sell the third can and then get a virus yourself because you don't have it. Karma.

You're a NEW YORKER and you are (or were) selling Lysol for $75????
Have you even seen what is happening in your state? Your city?
If I were you I would run down to the nearest overwhelmed ER (soon to be 2x 3x or 4x more overwhelmed) and ask if they need your Lysol. If you have masks, I KNOW they need them because the front page of the Post had a picture of ER staff in TRASH BAGS because they don't have enough PPE.
Nobody wishes cancer on you. We wish you good health. Also, don't price gouge. It could indirectly cost people their lives.

The government might help you get rid of what you have left.

Sorry to hear you have cancer. It does not excuse price gouging and probably makes it harder to understand. I am sitting on a ton of inventory and might be able to help you if you need moral and ethical items to list to help you through these trying times. Thanks.

"Kentucky Attorney General has issued subpoenas to Amazon price gougers in his state. Probably won't be long before other states follow suit, and ebay price gougers see some of those same subpoenas."
Just read on the internet that amazon suspended 3900 sellers for price gouging.

A fair price is FREE. I think anyone who has helpful products should be donating them to their neighborhood first responders, nursing homes and hospitals. They are making huge sacrifices for you and your family. They are our first line and should be our greatest concern. Not how much profit we can get away with.

All sellers of your ilk are missing the point, by the time you factor in a fair profit, your fees, and shipping, buyers are paying three times what they would have in the store. Had you left the product on the shelves they could have purchased it for a reasonable price.

Price gouging is illegal so you probably won’t get much sympathy for jumping on here to complain about getting caught...

You are violating policy by listing it. Just dont, they could reprimand .

That is absolutely not a "fair" price for 3 large cans of Lysol. A fair price would be the cost a buyer would pay at their local grocery store, Walmart, etc. You are way in over your head, taking advantage of other peoples ignorance.
I suspect everybody knows what a can of Lysol costs. So no, its not ignorance. In my area, such items have been sold out in every single local store for several weeks now.
Also, I doubt Lysol qualifies as an item that is "essential to life" and therefore, it is exempt from price gouging laws.
Going to be hard to make a case that the price was too high is someone was actually willing to pay it.

I have a tip for you:
Don't admit to crimes in public forums.
Also stop committing crimes. I see you STILL have cans of lysol for sale (currently $53 bid + $20 shipping).
I also have a question for you:
What is a fair penalty for profiteering off people's fear and panic in the middle of a deadly pandemic? I can't decide if it's prison or a fine. Thoughts?
Simply put, its not a crime, even if you wish it was.
