I listed 3 large cans of Lysol for auction starting at $9.95 and a Buy It Now price of $74.95. I had a buyer pay for two of my listing paying the $74.95 for each. Ebay emails me payment confirmation and to ship both orders. I go to post office first thing next morning and ship both orders and file the tracking number with Ebay and buyer. Then I get an email from Ebay the payment is on HOLD.
I checked listings prior to putting up my own auctions. I saw hundreds of auctions and sold auction with much higher prices then the price I listed. Why is my auctions being put on hold and buyers returned their payments AFTER I shipped some of my orders. What is a FAIR price for Lysol? Please I can't afford to ship items and pay shipping cost and not get paid for items I shipped. Many sellers like myself have to go to the post office at risk of getting infected, is it really to much to ask for $20 to $30 for one large can of Lysol?

Wasn't 'Disinfectant Spray' on the list of items not allowed to be sold on ebay at this time?

That is absolutely not a "fair" price for 3 large cans of Lysol. A fair price would be the cost a buyer would pay at their local grocery store, Walmart, etc. You are way in over your head, taking advantage of other peoples ignorance.

2 very bad things here.
1.) you are price gouging, which is illegal by both the Federal Gov't and most States. What does it sell for in the store, $4-$5? You can only increases 10%.
2.) You can't send 'aerosol' cans on an airplane- they'll explode and could bring down the plane. They have to go "ground" you have to ship them specifically that way- did you?
Your $ was frozen because those items are not allowed to be gouged, and temporarily banned to sell on ebay as well as many other 'selling' type sites.

It's not as clear when it was an auction and the starting price was close to retail. I have seen rare Amaterasu plush sell for over 800.00.

May be subjective, but by the laws of your state $30 per can is very likely punishable under those laws.
No one is forcing you to risk your health to go anywhere.

I have a tip for you:
Don't admit to crimes in public forums.
Also stop committing crimes. I see you STILL have cans of lysol for sale (currently $53 bid + $20 shipping).
I also have a question for you:
What is a fair penalty for profiteering off people's fear and panic in the middle of a deadly pandemic? I can't decide if it's prison or a fine. Thoughts?

Prison time depends on the $ amount.
Up to $1k, 90 days.
Up to $10k, 180 days.
Over $10k- 1 yr/1 day (state prison)
Plus fines- 100x the price of the item (s) gouged as a fine- so they can work to pay the fine for the next umpteen years. Money goes 50% to families lost during this epidemic, 50% to hospitals & their workers.

If it makes you feel better, consider that you donated the Lysol to the person you sent it to.
Looking at it that way... you're only out-of-pocket the cost of the Lysol, the s&h cost and the FVFs.
That's really a small amount when you weigh it against the recipient's need for the product.
Try to feel good about your donation in these troubling times... it turned out well!

The best advice anyone can give you right now is to remove any current listings of similar product as eBay will not allow the sale and/or eBay will remove the listing for you.

Comparing apples to oranges -- I doubt that ANY plushies would be considered health & safety items and I doubt if eBay has banned the sale of them.

“It's not as clear when it was an auction and the starting price was close to retail.“
Actually it is perfectly clear that this is wrong. The OP is trying to profit as much as possible by auctioning a product that people are hoarding due to a worldwide health crisis.
”I have seen rare Amaterasu plush sell for over 800.00. ”
Stuffed animals aren’t necessary to protect the public’s health.

Good to know eBay's policies on price gouging are working! Thanks for letting us know!

So you decided to join in with all the other price gougers! How'd that work out for ya? I'm sure you know the adage about "If all your friends decided to jump off a cliff . . . "
@9llchingy wrote:Why is my auctions being put on hold and buyers returned their payments AFTER I shipped some of my orders.
Because they violated eBay price gouging policies.
@9llchingy wrote:What is a FAIR price for Lysol?
After checking around the internet for prices of Lysol Disinfectant Spray, the range would appear to be anywhere from $5 to $8.
@9llchingy wrote:Please I can't afford to ship items and pay shipping cost and not get paid for items I shipped.
Then you should've complied with eBay's price gouging policies, rather than violating them.

Yes. Yes, it is.
