WHERE IS MY INVENTORY???

I went into last years fall/winter inventory to resist. IT IS GONE!!  This is so maddening! Is anyone else having this trouble?

Now, I worry about my new folder I made for 2022 Spring and Summer to relish next spring. Are there any other ways to assure these items are "kept" and available for next year?

Thanks!

The only way I know of is to save your work on your own computer.  I use Sixbit. But another way is to save your descriptions in a text file. Not the perfect solution I know but when ebays in control of your work, anything can and does happen.

Your unsold fall/winter 2021 inventory disappeared about 9 months ago.  And your spring/summer 2022 unsold inventory is about to vanish too.

WHERE IS MY INVENTORY???

@legalnurseconsultant,

If these were ended listings, then they are only available on eBay for 90 days after they ended. After 90 days they are deleted. It has been this way for a long time (10-15 years at least).

If you use fixed-price, buy-it-now listings (as opposed to auctions) then you can extend the time before the listing is removed by using the Out-of-stock option. With that on, if the quantity goes to zero (either when the last one is sold, or when you edit the quantity and change it to zero), then the listing will stay live but is not shown in search results, and is not available for buyers to purchase. A listing can stay in this zero-quantity out-of-stock status for up to 90 days, after which it will be ended. Then the 90 day time limit for an ended listing begins, so this will keep your listings available for up to 180 days or about 6 months.

https://www.ebay.com/help/multiquantity-listings-listings-variations/creating-managing-listings/list...

If you need more time than that, you can revise the quantity to one, close to the end of the 90 day out-of-stock status, and that will start the 90 day clock over again. Then revise the quantity back to zero again, until you are ready to make it active again. You can keep doing this if you want to keep the listing for longer without being active.

As long as the quantity is zero for an entire listing period (one month), then the listing will not be counted against your available free listings or cost an insertion fee if you don't have any free listings available. If you revise the quantity briefly to extend the time, that may cost an insertion fee if you don't have any available.

If you prefer auctions, then relist them as fixed price and change the quantity to zero when  you want to store them, then relist them as auctions when you want them to be active again.

The other option is to use a third-party listing app (another responder recommended SixBit) or save the descriptions in text files and the photos on your hard drive. These don't require you to manage the listings as closely, so are probably easier.

Thank you for your reply.

They were not ended. I put them in INVENTORY which I've done for years and years. They are all clothes, shoes etc. Not multiples of anything.

Can you share an item number, and the full title for one of these, as an example?

I am wondering if you were using the Out-of-Stock option all along (it is sometimes referred to as Inventory in the eBay help pages) but maybe you waited too long.

New to me as well, never heard of an "inventory" option, and I been here for awhile...

First I've heard of this.     I usually use draft to save something for later with the understanding

that it has a 90 day time limit.

I guess I don't know where the "Put to Inventory" option is...

...but anyways, here's how I avoid the ~90 day delete: Very quick and easy in Seller Hub bring up your ended items, tick off the ones you want to hold another 90 days, mass relist them, THEN mass END them. Bingo, you just held on to them for another 90 days and it took you only a minute.

Selling Manager had an Inventory function although I think it was only available in the Pro version, and they added this to the Seller Hub.

It's under your Listings tab in Seller Hub.

Personally, I've never used it because I don't trust ebay to keep it for me. Heck they can't even figure out how many drafts you can store or for how long.
