why is ebay adding the sales tax to the seller's income from sale. Sellers never receive sales tax

I have been averaging 140-150 views per day for a while now. The last few days I have been only getting 10-15 views. It was a pretty sharp cut off in views. It almost seems as if eBay changed something rather than market changes over time.
