After recent update, my account seems to be bricked. New listings have no views (usually I get 5-10 views in the first hour after listing; now it has been a day and some have 0 and others 1); old listings don’t get any more or less watcher. I have old listing in the message displayed “item sold, please ship it as soon as possible). I didn’t get any sales since October 11. All my items are promoted . Anyone with the same issues? I am just wondering if it is just me or others as well. I called Ebay multiple times but they are clueless as everything looks good to them.

As a buyer I too search for the best deal, and feedback is important to me, more so than page placement. However, as a seller being at or near the top of the page generates a lot more sales than being buried with all the other listings.

I don't mark up my prices for Promoted Listings, Sales, or any of that. I know many other sellers who also don't mark up their prices to use those tools. Of course, I sell mostly used and vintage, it might be different if I were selling new commodity items.

You may want to check your items and see if they are in the right categories now. After they were done with the changes I had hundreds of products in the wrong categories, like 8" nativities in the ornaments section.

I list my majority of items on dot ca with a few stragglers on dot com. This is, as of today what I am seeing for traffic since these changes took place.

2 Points to make. I was under the impression that dot ca and dot com were directly connected and in the past my listings were found, majority from within eBay. This appears to be no longer the case. Especially for sellers selling OOAK type items. My sales bare this out. Routinely in the past 30 to 40 sales per month. This month 3 since the categories/IS's have been confuddled. So totally missing how this is a better way.

PS. As a side point as items are transitioned from one correct category those items are showing up with IS's being entirely purged of the original information. These listing were correct and accurate when originally created. Now...Not so much. Many sellers are now in the same situation with corrupted listings run amok.

Hi @lotzofuniquegoodies! I ran a test search on eBay.com and your CA items are showing up, so nothing should've changed there. I'm not sure why IS's would be purged when there are typically more than ever, given our switch to product-based categories. If you can provide me with a few category/specific examples where most IS's are missing, I would be happy to pass the info on for a closer review.

That's basically how it works, and how it has worked for some years. Your listings are seen as a 'cohort' and adding fresh listings brings up your entire cohort of listings because of the recency ('freshness') factor, this means also your old listings which are in your 'cohort'. Similarly, if you sell one item, there's a pretty good chance you'll sell a very similar item pretty quickly (if you have one) - it's because all of your items in that particular category rise in visibility.

So many listings are posted on this site that a 'new' listing drops really quickly in search. It's never ending.

Don't forget that all of the gazillion free listings eBay gave store operators is adding to the listing overload. Especially now that we are heading into the busiest selling time of the year. In the past few weeks I have seen a couple of the categories I list in expand to double or triple the number of items for sale compared to late summer.

More listings, fewer buyers, site changes and glitches, Amazon making their delivery dates on time while USPS, FedEx and UPS are already posting delivery delay warnings, desperate sellers jumping on the pay to play click Promoted Listings Advanced to buy top of page 1 search results, other sellers using the Promoted Listings Standard in an effort just to have their items seen somewhere on the site, still others utilizing volume discounts and percentage off sales that help catch a buyers eye on search results, buyers focusing on purchasing gift type items right now, and myriad other factors are affecting views and sales.

Depending upon which type of parts you are selling the demand might be low right now as buyers spend their money on gift items. How's your competition doing? Is there anything in their listings that is missing from yours? Pricing? Number of photos?

Watch your promoted listing metrics. If your views are nosediving after 3 days, end the campaign and start a new one with a different percentage. eBay CEO gave that recommendation not long ago in a podcast. I use the promoted listings continuous option and still have had to end them after awhile and launch a new one.

Hang in there. It's rough going for most sellers right now with eBay's latest item specifics fiasco. I sincerely hope you have better days soon!

Wow you added 2 or 3 new listings this YEAR. You are not qualified to respond to mb_parts_2020. If you received 2 views on those mega new listings your views would be up a ton. We list 15-30 new listing everyday. We have 4300 listings which is way different then your situation. Your replies sound very eBay KoolAid. You must be one of their helpers. Do some volume and then make suggestions.

E-commerce traffic is down because consumers are shopping in brick-and-mortar stores again.

Fed Ex recently reported slower e-commerce business.

Macys and other retailers are experiencing increased traffic and sales in their stores.

Why do you think Amazon wants to start opening their own B&M stores? They see people like to shop in stores, not just online.

I have seen a dramatic drop in sales as well. I even promoted most of my listings . I believe it’s an issue wit how buyers are viewing my listings ..👎🏿👎🏿

It is currently very strange selling on ebay right now. I only have a couple things listed now, and likely won't do more, until after the first of the year. I mean what's the point? I'm just straightening the deck chairs on the Titanic, and listing would seem to be all for not, as things are so messed up with eBay. For me, (vintage auto parts) this started back in the summer. From what I gather from the boards, it does seem to be somewhat of a beggar's banquet for those who sell watches, books, and boudoir toiletries; Hey, good for them. Possibly I should entertain the idea of an inventory switch...Who knew? 🙄

Have I changed anything to affect traffic? No. Traffic number are increasing on dot ca. Crickets on dot com when you compare. The only rational conclusion I can make is it was something done by ebay early in October. This is not making any sense, especially comparing information between the 2 sites and has definitely NOT been an improvement!!!!

The majority of sellers are noting a drop off the cliff in traffic and sales. It wasn't gradual. I saw the same decrease in traffic/sales the last time eBay "messed" with item specifics. Much of it has to do with how search works NOW for OOAK/Vintage sellers. Item specific changes have made things substantially worse. Why? Because for these sellers, stuff is much harder to find!! Especially within eBay!!

As a buyer recently, it is harder to find things and only 10 items pops. Interestingly , that those items differ between app and website (low number of different items are displayed). I prefer shopping elsewhere now unless I had something in the watch list from before the update. I started thinking that Ebay doesn’t like me on the platform or maybe they trying to weed out certain sellers.
