Visibility of listings views and sales in US dropped dramatically October 2021

After recent update, my account seems to be bricked. New listings have no views (usually I get 5-10 views in the first hour after listing; now it has been a day and some have 0 and others 1); old listings don’t get any more or less watcher. I have old listing in the message displayed “item sold, please ship it as soon as possible). I didn’t get any sales since October 11.  All my items are promoted . Anyone with the same issues? I am just wondering if it is just me or others as well. I called Ebay multiple times but they are clueless as everything looks good to them.

Yes. But you have to understand that there were cancellations etc . Ebay sends buyer with shady addresses to buy from me maybe on purpose so they can hold onto fees money shipping etc.

It's ebay's fault that your sales are down and also ebay has a secret department that "sends"   buyers with shady addresses to you.

I think i see what's going on here.

Also now I am flooded with buyer issues in addition to cancellations I get return requests -like a wave. So Ebay stated that they are loosing 5% off buyers due to shift to high value buyer. If my sales dropped by 50% and every day is worse. There is no money for new stuff. It seems that all buyes Ebay sends me are broke.

I'm a seller on eBay and I'm about to quite eBay as eBay algorithm does not give impressions to international sellers

I'm a top rated sellers 100% positive feedback and score more than 8000Fedbacks

on 2018 i was visibility champion on eBay awards 

EBay acts as a racism on it's sellers (that changes around 2018) and getting worst 

Is eBay an international marketplace or not?? 

eBay must stop that it Doesn't matter from where we ship as long as the sellers must fulfil the order on the delivery time stated on the listing

For the 365 day period prior to 10/26/2021, my daily average of sales was 2.1. Since that date, it is .4. In my 29+ years of retailing, I have never, when my doors were open, experienced such a sudden and prolonged percentage drop. In that other sellers have expressed a similar situation, either the consuming public has radically changed or the problem is on e-Bay's end.

Here’s my take. eBay is trying to use “search terms only” to direct traffic to listings. Hence all the ludicrous “item specifics”. On the surface there isn’t anything wrong with that except the site has been configured to search using search terms AND categories. Of course by eliminating categories and increasing searchable item specifics some items are going to fall through the cracks and never come up in customer searches. What they should have done is gotten rid of all categories first, then switched over to cleanly to key words searches only. Of course they didn’t do that, so sales are effected.

I have been noticing the same thing, very little views. Then I just read an article online about it. Apparently eBay has changed the way that they calculate views. They no longer count multiple views from the same person, and they no longer count views from bots. They changed it at the same time they rolled out the promotion listing advance program. They changed the view filter because of the pay per click ads. I can imagine there are some glitches that will need to be worked out. Sorry to hear about your sales, hopefully it gets worked out soon.

I am not sure about pandemic and so. I checked my competitors and they sell like crazy everyday 2-3k while I make one sale every 4 days and immediately followed by return request so I will have problem sustaining here in NY with almost no income. It seems Ebay bottlenecked my sales and I believe they are in control and pick and choose sellers. I believe prices have nothing to do with sales numbers. I checked that same parts I have sold for triple the price than what I have it listed. As for pay per click , I read the man sold item for $100 but paid $80 in clicks.  I feel unmotivated to grow my inventory and I am unsure what is Ebay up to and whether it will change ever. I have trouble listing items -the app exits and shuts down. It has never been so hard. I pay them for standard promotion for all items (anywhere 4%) , created incentives, sent offers, i pay them for premium store. When I looked into downgrading store subscription I was displayed message that downgrading will cause me not to sell at all possibly. Since 10/25 all items but 2 were sold via promoted.

Wow, sorry to hear about that. It definitely sounds like eBay has some serious issues that is affecting your account. Especially when others are selling the same parts for more money. Hope this gets sorted out for you, I can only imagine how frustrating it is to be bottlenecked like that.

For me, sales seem the same as I started. I had one listing that got 100 views and 11 watchers in just about two days. My other listings have about 3-5 watchers and 60 views, listed just recently.

I sell used car parts too and ebay turned my store down right when I was selling 3k a week.  When the catagory update happened my store traffic slowed doen but then picked up.  Now they completely turned my traffic off.  Sucks.

I checked bigger sellers and they didn’t loose sales for even 1 day after update. Theirsales are 3k a day.how is that fair? I advertise send offers and coupons and nothing happens. Ebay send me email with suggestion to i]up my ad rate while I am the only one having multiple items or I am the only one offering item in particular color. How pathetic!

Its feebays good old self defeating way of doing business..

Here's how it works , You open an account , You start listing stuff , your stuff just starts flying off of the shelf and things are great . Then after a month or so you get the email from them saying "Hey your sure doing great selling stuff hu??"

How about opening an ebay store for 20.00 or so a month  and we will give you all these other great benefits like more listings etc... If you dont take the bait and open a store , your sales suddenly hit a brick wall and you cant sell anything.

Ive been selling off and on with feebay for 24 years. (but not anymore as ive had it with the ever increasing fees and their dumb games).

If I stop selling for a year or so and go back to it the cycle starts all over again and again.

Ive never took the bait and opened a store as im pretty sure things would not be any better and I would now be paying them 20.00 or so a month  for nothing.

What a scam. They need to change their ways and give everyone a fair chance..

I had that same problem up until I made a few changes:

1. Promote all fixed price listings at the 1% min.

2. Change the way the wording in the title is listed.

3. Created a standardized listing template with multiple relevant keywords.

4. Did better research on comps (they change constantly.)

5. Start all listings at the same time every week.
