So I noticed recently that eBay has started putting verified purchase under buyers' names and prices of items on feedback. As far as I know, eBayers cannot leave seller feedback UNLESS they BUY something from said seller? Has this changed? Is verified purchase really necessary? I know this is a minor change but I'm just curious about the reasoning?

You can read about it here.

I've noticed it also, don't know what the reasoning is... ebay is as ebay does.

Useless foolish clutter.
eBay being a wannabe
Other sites have it, but where they have it, .......................... it means something.

Honestly I think it's a correct change. Many sites allow feedback without actual purchase. This is a stemming problem with many fake reviews. This helps newer buyers understand that the person who left the review actually made a purchase.

@robbie31415 I can kind of understand that. I guess we eBay OGs just know the way things operate and take it as known by everyone.

Trying to do as AMZN does.
