Sudden drop in sales May 2022

They (eBay) just imposed the new listing tool on us! OH MY GOD!

Just wait! There was nothing wrong with the old one! There was nothing

wrong with the old old old one! They are crazy! Are they trying to kill

us small sellers off? I have rent due in two weeks, my sales have not

improved at all! This is so bad for sellers right now! It's useless to

phone them, they can not help! 

Help pages are no help, chat robot, no help, phone in menu no help!

WE NEED A HUMAN!!!!! that can help! Good luck on that!

They might just do us in this time!

I tend to agree with this..... and was looking into this last night........ I had one auction I was running that I sold almost 2000 of one single item......on average 8-12 of that item a day......here we are Oct 10, 2022 and I have sold maybe 35 of that same items since July 1.

Although I thought I saw the bottom of sales on September.......October seems to be slowing down again.

God willing I will be able to reduce my inventory further.....but i have to honestly say.....a business that I was extremely profitable in back in July......has simple turned into a net daily loss now.  This is extremely troubling because of the dramitic sales downturn.

For those of you that will tell me the economy is slow which is by my sales are off 60%+  that is total **bleep**. Ebay's developers have pushed bad code live all over their website......just look at their shipping module.....known problems that they are admitting to.....going unfixed for months.

I get it. My sales died the week of the hurricane. Some are still filtering through but it’s been very odd. I’ve been selling since Feb 2022 so I wasn’t sure if it was because of the hurricane down here, a recession, or is it slow in Oct on EBay?! It’s frustrating:/

no one from ebay will read these, unless you tag an ebay employee - which would be devon@ebay since velvet is gone from what i understand - and yes - sales dropped off the cliff again since Oct 1st

Like many other people who have responded to this post I am living with fear and anxiety.  Simply put... for the past 15 years eBay and the other venues I sell on have been a consistent source of "predictable" income for me.  eBay... NOT ANYMORE!!

I plan to continue to sell on eBay but NOW I'm looking for a job to get me through the holidays.  If October is any indication of holiday sales, things are looking dismal.  I have to pay rent, utilities and hopefully have enough money to buy food.  This is totally insane! Fifteen years and I have never seen anything like this!

So, I'll throw this into this post in hopes that ANYONE is paying attention devon@ebay

Polished up my resume and even if I have to take a minimum wage job it beats the hell out of what I'm doing on eBay right now.

and eBay just continues to continue... denying that there are any problems.  Excuse me but do NEW sellers listings get special treatment?  It that is the case that means that eBay does in fact have the ability to manipulate who gets views.... no matter how much you pay for PL.

I stopped getting sales October 6th 2022 I usually get a couple a week not getting any over 10 days no offers either I noticed after views reset sales stopped I set up a Poshmark store today transferred ebay items thru Exportyourstore got 2 sales immediately on Poshmark something very wrong on Ebay been selling there 6+ years

Sales levels right now feel more like mid-August than mid-October.  It doensn't help that more matches are showing up on Google search than eBay's internal one.  If an old hand like me can't find anything, how are new buyers supposed to?

Sales are tanking right now. I have a generous ad cap and lots of watchers. I get sales in spurts and then nothing for days. I sold nothing this weekend which is highly unusual. They are definitely screwing with something in traffic. If this keeps up I will be homeless.

You can add me to the list. Everything is down. Sales, impressions, conversion rates, everything. Even with my promotion rates double of what's recommended.

Dollar wise my October sales are down about 30% for the last 30 days.  Impressions are also down about 30%.  Thank heaven for my repeat customers who are saving me from total devastation right now.

Something is broken and I just wish eBay would spend some time fixing the issues instead of continuing to implement additional changes.  It would be nice, for a change, if their tweaking would produce something beneficial.

The search engine is definitely broken.  Views and watchers has been broken since they made the change to exclude bots back in May which is when most of the problems began in regards to sales.  Also,  the change to the PL rates around the same time haven't helped.

Something has turned for the worse as of yesterday. We had one of the worst days in ages yesterday and I know that Sundays are usually typically slower for us of late, but yesterday was a mess. I noticed some very strange patterns when sales stopped and then it took 4.5 hours to get another sale and it was from an offer that I had sent out to a customer on Friday. Then I ended all of our promotions and promoted listings, got those restarted and it helped garner up a few sales for the rest of the night but nothing that I would call super fantastic.

I am noticing a similar pattern this morning where sales are non-existent when I woke up, and usually there is a decent amount first thing in the morning.

Not sure what in the world is going on anymore and since mid-May of this year they have really messed things up on this site.

they are down here, not sure by how much overall since all this decrease sales started months ago...lost track, but they have negative 0.03% for sales conversion rate on my overview - but I had 9 sales in 24hrs Thurs-early Fri AM which brought me up some... algorithm like said doing that... hoping they change it soon! 

Side note, my impressions are up, ride between 19-25K but they are "dippy"
