Sudden drop in sales May 2022

That is completely false.  Ebay is a major source of shipping revenue.  They can and do use that leverage to get much better shipping rates.

But I personally wonder what the ACTUAL discount is they negotiate, and what percentage they actually pass on to us.

Same here with at least a 40% decline in sales in two stores I have on Ebay.  This is beyond slow and has been doing on since mid May 2022.  I sell a varied range of goods so there is no reason to see this type of drop off after being on Ebay since 1999.  I have seen slow and low times but this is odd.

eBay is totally broken. I made $175 last week, unheard of, never happened in the past 17 years I've been selling full time.

Another month of this ridiculousness will break me. I've always sold $5,000 plus a month, but now, there seems to be no hope. Items I listed a month ago that are on a different platform received 0-1 views on eBay, and 50-60 views on that other platform. I have no idea what is happening, but it's just wrong, and broken. I'm fully aware EBay cares little about my livelihood, but I do want to make other sellers aware they are not alone in this struggle.

While ebay gets themselves together, start selling on another platform. I have been doing this years. I no longer buy stuff to sell on eBay but for other platforms. So much more profitable on other platforms and no price haggling with customers. If I do buy on eBay 50 percent of the time it is too sell on another platform because the prices are extremely low.

My sales are down 62% since mid-May.  This has NEVER happened since I started selling on eBay?!?  Something is just WRONG, and I have no idea how to even try to fix it.

For me, this started in May will all the new updates changes, etc...It has NOT gotten any better.

Yes this is the same for me, i was getting lots of views at the very least if not one or two sales a day and ever since that recent big update they did that changed how views work my most of my views and sales are gone. I'm lucky if i get a few views on a big ticket item per day, i barely get 1 sale a week now. I don't know what they did but they F'ed something up. I'm a small time seller so this hurts me a lot, the side income from this was very helpful but now even listing 5-10 items a day I'm getting almost zero sales.

The drop in sales because of who knows what, and to add insult to injury, eBay pulled down three of our listings because and I quote their email: “We had to remove your listing because it didn’t follow our Offensive material policy. Listings that promote or glorify hatred, violence, or discrimination aren’t allowed.” “-- Black Americana items that are discriminatory” We listed a 100 year old comedy record by Ralph Bingham these were commonly referred to on the labels as “Darky Stories” You can read and hear these recordings on The Library of Congress web site. We have been selling these for over 20 years on line. The folks at eBay said we were not singled out, however we were able to pull up dozens of the same thing while we were on the phone with eBay! They said they just haven't gotten around to pulling the others down – yet! They said they even had to remove all Aunt Jemima products, although we found about 40 of them still on! The “N” word appears many times on eBay listings, 28 thousand for Nazi collectibles. When I brought up the fact that most rap music is degrading to women and black people, they couldn't answer that? WHY? Rap music is the biggest selling recorded music world wide! There are 270,000 plus rap albums on eBay! Then they asked if we would like to complain about the other listings, NOT ON YOUR LIFE! We are not squealers or informants for eBay! The customer service guy said another seller may have turned the listings in? Well which was it? Bottom line – “Those who forget their history are doomed to repeat it!” This old phrase needs updating how about “Those who try and re-write history, and whitewash it are just as doomed to repeat it! We are not racist nor do we promote racism – we sell historical artifacts from twentieth century America! That is all! Nothing else is given or implied!

Same here! June statement came in - WORST month ever!

I was grossing 20 thousand dollars each quarter - the last

3 months under $14 close to $13 thousand! That's bad!

When you have major financial players advise limiting purchases to essentials, there has to be a ripple effect. EBay is not at fault. They have done an excellent job rolling out complex software.

Great drop in eBay sales. I release new items and have no views for two days. It is not normal. It's like my account is stuck in a dead end and no one sees it. We disappeared from Google. Maybe eBay should pay attention to this. We are their bees, aren't we...

I think the actual question might be WHO has had a huge sales jump in this department on Ebay at the same time other sellers' sales have dropped?  Do they have a special relationship with Ebay?

I had added my user name to the list per your request and I wanted to update you as to where I'm at today.

The 4th of July weekend produced 10 sales for me. Acceptable but still not normal for me.  I had hoped that my store was getting back to normal and that some of the eBay problems had been resolved.  It was a very short lived.

My problem has been ongoing since mid May.  May 13th to be exact, which is when there was a major disruption on the eBay site which was discussed on several threads in the Technical Problems forum on that day.  Here is a link to just one of the threads.

My sales for the remainder of May were down 30 to 40%.  My sales for June were down 40 to 60%.  May sales on July 1st were down 68%.  My sales as of today are still down at 60.7%

It's an ongoing problem that is still broken hasn't been fixed.
