Forget it. eBay is over for the foreseeable future. I’d advise you to get rid of all your inventory for whatever you can get but even that might be too optimistic as there is simply no traffic—nobody to sell your stuff to at just about any price. Please don’t keep adding inventory in the hopes eBay will rebound because it’s unlikely to. Find a more emotionally rewarding and less frustrating hobby

that should answer a great deal of the sellers questions on the why of 0 views.

Add me to the list as well I haven’t sold hardly anything my sales have fell horribly and I haven’t sold hardly anything I am constantly sharing all my listings I have some promoted some of them are less then the prices they have sold for and I haven’t even received offers and I send offers out all the time I’ve never seen anything like this nothing is selling I’m selling more locally and on other platforms then on here I listed scrap on here and that is one thing that almost always you get offers coming in right away or not long after listing a lot like that I have had almost no views and no offers as of yet it was nothing for me to sell 100k on here in a year now it says I’m doing a little less then 3k every 90 days that’s sad I am glad I don’t rely on eBay anymore to make a living I know I’m not the only one because my friends that sell on eBay are going through the same problem no views no offers no sales and there prices are reasonable we all have been selling a lot and now virtually nothing is selling now I would have to say eBay is the problem more then anything I have listed stuff on Mercari and have sold a bunch on there and the views are through the roof so I guess what I’m saying is eBay sucks and I wish that PayPal would just buy them and they can call it Palbay I never had too many problems with PayPal ebays return policy and how they are not for the seller is a whole other issue the worse thing they did was let the buyer choose the reason for returns and they know that if they choose a not as described reason they are off the hook on shipping what’s eBay do nothing they say “ have you give the buyer a shipping label” “ that’s what you have to do “ ON THAT ONE” I love when they say that they don’t care I’m the one getting screwed for them lying so I have to pay to take a item back and of course I get it back and nothing is wrong but I lose twice on shipping that’s why I don’t put high dollar Luxury pieces on here I have buyers local I get the same amount of money from cash on the spot and there is no reversals on cash eBay has had its run like so many businesses and I believe this is the beginning of the end for them I don’t need them to survive they are all for the buyer and screw the seller they forget that without the sellers there would be no buyers but you can’t tell that to a bunch of greedy idiots

You clearly have missed the point. The Seller was just trying to say eBay needs to put a cap on the FVF they charge on Sales Tax and shipping. You are correct no one can control the increase in shipping however eBay can control the amount of profit they take out of a sale. There is no profit being made on shipping or sales tax. eBay has no overhead expense on shipping and they are being paid on it in a grand way. At a min eBay should allow the FVF on tax and shipping to be a pass through having the Buyer pay those fees. Have you notice when you are purchasing a label from eBay it is always exactly what the Buyer is invoiced. You can't keep raising your price so Sellers can satisfy eBay's hunger for profit. At some point Sellers will have to stop sell on the platform.

eBay shouldn't be taking a cut of shipping especially when we offer free shipping

I was actually talking about the raising shipping cost, ebay IS big enough to put some pressure on the USPS, they didn't even post the $15 surcharge but a couple days before it raised it. I'm surprised they didn't do anything about it, just laid down with its belly up like a dog. I mean I lost about $30k a year in fishing rods, I no longer can sell them even with UPS or FEDEX, rates are over $25. I don't like paying FVF on sales tax but its better then figuring out the tax law in all the states BUT they need to look into charging on FVF on shipping, after 10 years someone has to had come up with a better idea so ebay doesn't lose out on shipping scam. With the rates are going thru the roof, FVF on shipping is getting quite high.

Sales dropped 50% in May. 53% actually. I called and was told that there was nothing wrong with my account, that buyers were able to see my items, blah, blah blah. Amazingly, within 20 minutes of us hanging up, I had 4 orders in 2 hours. Then, everything stopped again. And it's been slow ever since.
