I need some answers for what are probably really dumb questions.
First: Do you need to be a TRS in order to get a discount on shipping labels run through PayPal? There are some things I can send first class without tracking for 70 cents but to keep the TRS status I have to charge the customers 3.25 to send. This does not make sense to me since I could offer these products at a lower cost without tracking. Yes, some may claim they did not get it without a tracking number, but the increase in sales might make up for the occasional complainer. I don't care about keeping the TRS status if I could still get the postal discount through PayPal.
Second: If you are taking Ayden and not allowed to take PayPal right now, can you still run the shipping labels through PayPal or do you use another stamp service? If you use another stamp service, what are you using and how much does that cost?

I believe every seller gets the commercial base rate through eBay labels, which is cheaper than the retail price at the post office. But TRS sellers get a commercial Plus discount, which can save you even more.
For instance - I have two selling accounts, and when one was TRS and one was not the TRS account paid $2-$3 less for First Class International packages than the non-TRS account.

All eBay labels are charged at the discounted online rate, except for Media Mail. Top Rated Sellers get an extra 3% off for Priority Mail.
All eBay sellers pay the same online (Commercial) prices for their First Class package labels.

Are you talking about printing labels on PP? If so, there is no TRS discount from ebay there........ You have to print the labels ON ebay to get the ebay discount........
Can't answer the Ayden question.............but anyone can print a label thru paypal............... On Ayden, pretty sure sellers can still print a label from Ebay.........the question then is where the money comes from to pay on Ebay for the label......since paypal is not accepted right now and they transfer seller's money out pretty quickly (or supposed to). I'm guessing they either charge a seller ebay account or a cc.........

To begin with it is NOT a good idea to ship without a tracking #, it would be like inviting a scam buyer to file item NOT received claim, why do you not use Ebay shipping labels?
The OP has explained that their reason for avoiding package rates is that the cost is high, relative to the value of their items. Many eBay sellers of lower-value items such as stickers, postcards, stamps, etc. are very successful despite shipping without tracking. Some categories attract very few scammers.

I've used Stamps.com before. There's a free, 4 week trial membership with $5 postage. After that ends, you pay $17.99
per month. It wasn't for me. The $17.99 per month was just another unnecessary added expense.

Edited because my post was virtually the same as @nobody*s_perfect.
Guess I should've read the whole thread before responding!

Specific to your question about Managed Payments.
By design, sellers using Ebay to create their shipping labels will still be funded through PP. So since MP doesn't allow for directly depositing money from MP to PP, sellers will need to keep funds in their PP accounts to cover their shipping labels.
This happens now and as far as I know is the plan for the future of this program. At least for now.
