I am getting older, I admit, but I do not recall ever having been asked to ship on a Saturday.
(I do ship same day / within 24 hours, and will ship today.)
Is this something new, or am I just not remembering an established eBay policy notification?

When you ship quickly, that notification quickly disappears. I rarely notice mine. It would be very easy to not have noticed the Saturday ship date before.

What days do you have set up to ship?
Check your shipping preferences.

Thanks... yes, I ship 6 days a week. Have been doing so for years.
Maybe I did not phrase my question properly.
This is the first time I have ever received a notice telling me to ship on a Saturday.
I have received thousands of orders on Fridays, but was always asked to ship by the following Monday.
That's why I found this notification unusual.

Did you receive the order before your cut off time on Friday?

I have not seen this happen before. Maybe eBay is now considering Saturday the same as any other business day. I ship same day (24 hours) as well and like to have the weekend as extra time if i can't get out on a Saturday.

I had something similar I believe last week but it wasn't a shipping time it was to refund someone by Saturday and I thought that was odd myself. I'm sure its just a glitch because not all post offices are open or operate on normal business hours on Saturdays. Mine closes at noon.

I have never seen that before...I hope that is just anomaly and doesn't become the norm. I offer one day shipping on most item, but I'm not even in possession of many of my items on the weekends

I seem to remember some talk about Saturday being a shipping day but I was under the impression that was up to the seller.

If you set Saturday as one of your shipping days in your profile then this can happen, ebay has been pushing that a lot. I would keep the 1 day shipping but not list that you ship on Saturday, you are still free to do so, but won't be expected to. I give myself 2nd business day but I do ship 6 days a week most of the time. Underpromise, overperform.

@fbusoni i have not experienced this.
i too have 1 day shipping, which is suppose to be business days, and Saturdays were never considered a business day.
if i make a sale on a Friday, i am expected to ship no later than that following Monday, but will package it up on the Saturday if my mail carrier has not yet made deliveries.
(exceptions on holidays of course)

Business days are defined by the seller.
If you set Saturday as a working day then Saturday will be included in business days.
This is completely optional and up to the seller.
By default eBay had the working days set Mon-Fri, but sellers have the option to change.
You can't advertise that you ship on Saturday then not expect eBay to hold you too it.
Most people here have never seen a ship on Saturday because they never changed their default settings.
It's completely normal.

No, I received the order after the Friday cut-off time.

What Is your cut off time for Saturday.
If the order was before the cut off time for Saturday and you have same day handling then you will be expected to ship on Saturday.
If you would not like to be required to ship on Saturday then change your working days and uncheck Saturday.

The cut off time is only valid for same day shipping. Check your working days set up. If Saturday is checked off then ebay counts that as a shipping day.

Yeah, I feel like eBay words it a little confusingly where people will only think it applies if you offer same day.
However the actual times are the only thing limited to same day offers.
If you offer 1 business day handling and you have Saturday checked, then all orders on Friday will be expected to ship on Saturday.
If you offer same day handling then the Saturday cut off time will apply so if you set your cut off time at 1pm on Saturday. Then every order After your Friday cut off time all the way to 1pm on Saturday will be expected to ship Saturday.
