I need to sell a motor home, a 32' Class C RV. I have never sold on e-bay before. Any advice? Any warnings? Will it be a mistake to try to use e-bay for this? I would have to find a buyer within reasonable distance from where I am in North Carolina, so that a serious buyer could come inspect it and, potentially, take possession.

PS The amount of money we're talking about is in the mid-five figures.

I have sold vehicles on ebay but it was long ago,
I believe that vehicles have a set listing fee with no %
you will need to be very careful the scammers will be circling like buzzards.
Getting paid will be the tricky part, problem with cash only is a buyer coming with $50,000 cash gets stopped by the cops and they find that they have $50,000 many police agencies will just take it and keep it, happens all the time.

I found my RV on eBay, but when I sold it I used RVTrader. Another option, especially if you're hoping to find a local buyer, would be Craig's list.

Listing fees are nonrefundable even if it doesn't sell, and vehicle sales here are non-binding, so there is some risk that a buyer (or winning bidder) might ghost you rather than show up and pay. You might want to consider whether someone halfway across the country is really going to have an urgent need for your particular RV.
That said, the usual risk with RV sales (or other vehicles here) is that the seller is a fake, not the buyer, with the most common old scam being that eBay is somehow holding the vehicle in storage someplace, all ready for free delivery to the buyer, after which the buyer has 5 days to evaluate the vehicle, and if they don't want it, the magical fairy tow truck will come back to retrieve it for a refund. It's total fiction, but part of trying to separate the buyer from his money via fake invoices, off-eBay pay methods and such.
I know that's not what you plan to do, but be prepared for cautious buyers to ask for plenty of photos, pay on pickup, etc. Take a look at comparable listings here, check the Sold listings to see how many sold (and for how much), and decide for yourself whether the listing fees will pay off for you in your case. Good luck.

New seller, first item you list is a expensive camper.
I'm going to be honest that can seem sketchy

Sell it locally. There are many in the North Carolina area that might be looking for temp. housing. I think if you used Facebook Marketplace, you may find groups that were misplaced from the last storm disaster that could use it. YMMV
