Questionable name on order

I received an order with a questionable name, The address is legit, But the name get this Demon Killer Gang!, Is this some Halloween thing?, The order has value so I informed the buyer That it will be sent with delivery confirmation, Signature required, Just for a precautionary , It was worth the little bit extra, I do not wish to be scammed.

Re: Questionable name on order

Signature confirmation offers you absolutely no extra protection vs. regular tracking.

I don't care what name is on the shipping label, it can be "Rumpelstiltskin" for all I care, that's who I'm shipping it to.

But hey, that's just me. You do as you see fit.

Re: Questionable name on order

Gee. I must be a lazy seller.

I rarely look at names until after the label is printed. I have seen a few names that appear to be a screen or perhaps a store name.

I think you will be fine, but as always,  caution is needed with online selling.

Re: Questionable name on order

I get it, But I thought it needed a signature, You have to admit the name is pretty odd., It does at some protection knowing they can't say item not received.

Re: Questionable name on order

Requiring signature almost guarantees that you will have a mismatch between name on the order and signing recipient.

regardless, nothing wrong with your buyer’s name being made up.  I actually like it when I send to a recipient like this one - using a goofball name is just fun.

Buyers can't dispute 'item not received' with regular tracking either. Signature confirmation is only mandatory for items over $750 for protection purposes.

Perhaps it is a business name.

What type of scam are you imagining that signature confirmation will protect you from?

I thought so in this case, I did forget to mention that it is also a brand new account, Just started Yesterday, I never shy away from new accounts, Because everyone needs to start somewhere, I just have a little gut feeling about this one is all.

Unless $750 or more you don't need sig confirmation and unless they sign it the same as the label you will have a mismatch

It offers protection against a charge back, I think I would rather ship to Rumpelstiltskin!, It is a brand new account opened Yesterday.

That actually doesn't matter; Signature Confirmation only requires a signature from any adult at the delivery address. Where it does matter is Restricted Delivery Signature Confirmation, an even higher cost of service where the package can only be signed for by the addressee, but eBay doesn't require that level of SC. The USPS doesn't care what name is on a standard domestic package.

Unless you mentioned needing Sig Con in your description, might cause more problems then help.
