Questionable name on order

I received an order with a questionable name, The address is legit, But the name get this Demon Killer Gang!, Is this some Halloween thing?, The order has value so I informed the buyer That it will be sent with delivery confirmation, Signature required, Just for a precautionary , It was worth the little bit extra, I do not wish to be scammed.

Good thing immaturity doesn't disqualify one from purchasing items online.

Requiring signature almost guarantees that you will have a mismatch between name on the order and signing recipient.

regardless, nothing wrong with your buyer’s name being made up.  I actually like it when I send to a recipient like this one - using a goofball name is just fun.

They don't need to match.  Ebay has no requirement for that in which I'm aware of.

I think you are right, but OP wasn’t getting a signature based on what eBay required.

That doesn't matter.  It simply is not a requirement.

Correct.  It is not a requirement.  Thanks for agreeing with me, I suppose.

You could have gone and clink on the item sold and then:

Left side shows: 'Ship to' with person name and 'phone'

Right side shows: "Buyer : name and phone number'

Do the names and phone numbers match?

This is when I question a buyer.

Not sure how expensive item(s) were.

A new buyer or a guest...very questionable.

If items were paid as a whole I would have maybe cancel and take a 'ding'

If items were paid separate I would mail them so as not to take more than one 'ding' and hope for the best.

I also would take a photo of package with postage on it and send it with a friendly email to buyer saying item(s) have been mailed such and such...better than signature required where anyone can sign for it.

@meme6253

I wouldn't worry about it.   As long as the address looks good, I would send it.   I've had several VERY goofy names through the years.  Never had any issues.

But since it's a new account ... I would check to see if it's a house or apt. building.  A single home should be fine but if it's an apt. building make sure they have the apt. number.   Many new buyers forget to put it on there & that's when I've had a problem with it being sent back to me, so I always check the new accts. before shipping. ~Good luck~

I never stated it was a requirement. I don’t know why you were starting an argument about this. Have a great night.

What's the value of the item sold?

Some buyer use fake names for their packages to be delivered (and I believe they don't realize we can see their real name on the order... I have a few that go addressed to a Mr Smith, but I've got their name John Smith on the order).

I would just ship it and not worry about it. In Canada when you go to the post office you have to prove the package is addressed to you with ID, if the buyer can't pick up their package because of a fake name, that's their problem.

@youn2240

Thank you.  While I'm unsure as to what you are trying to say.  Those dogs are not wolves.  They are Husky / Malamute mixed.  Awesome dogs with great personalities.

Questionable name on order

I have one regular buyer whose name is apparently "JP" .

Just initials.

Stuff gets delivered but it throws me every time.

Unless $750 or more you don't need sig confirmation and unless they sign it the same as the label you will have a mismatch

It's my understanding that any adult at an address can sign for Signature Confirmed mail. A name mismatch is unimportant.
The point would be to make the receiver think twice about opening a Claim. It won't stop a determined crook, but may slow down a sketchy kid.
