Finally got ahold of a representative about my listing for Uno cards (of all things) being pulled as counterfeit. Check this out:

That reads more like an interaction with a bot than with a person. Or with a person not born/raised in the US, regardless of how well they know/use the language. Customs are customs, and it some countries, using the other person's name like that is considered a sign of respect.
-Bob.
I had a friend of a friend do a lengthy renovation when I bought my home. He repeatedly included my first name in our conversations, and I found it very endearing. He was probably a 1,000th generation American-born person. Similar to your suggestion that it's a sign of respect, I also found it to be a sign of connection or attentiveness, maybe.

You do not think that is helpful, despite the fact that it seems to be exactly what is happening to the OP?
False. It has now been confirmed in the solution from an eBay employee. The OP was given bad information by CS. If you were a seller coming here to give other sellers good advice that would have occurred to you immediately.

Your post was indeed helpful to the OP. Helpfulness, however, is not always the goal of every person who responds. Some prefer to make sure every post (1) bashes eBay and (2) is critical and/or dismissive of other posters' comments as the two main criteria of a worthy reply. If a reply does not meet those two criteria, it's not worth posting.
Attacking the OP instead of attempting to answer the question is a strange hobby. It has now been confirmed in the solution. The OP was given bad advice by CS. Any seller would have known this immediately.

The fallacy in that reply is that no one was attacking the OP, and luckythewinner was attempting to answer the question, and no one was defending the advice given by CS, and luckythewinner is indeed a seller.
But you're certainly correct that attacking other members' posts is a strange hobby--like including ROTFL and eye-rolling emojis in replies directed at another member who is doing nothing more than trying to get to the bottom of the OP's dilemma.

Those who don't sell may not have experience in dealing with CS seller support. Luckily an eBay employee confirmed that CS misspoke, as I said initially.
This is often the case.
The attempts to bait into further argument about this are tiresome.

This is the problem with VERO.
Ebay states the list may not be updated or complete.
In fact any seller can be VERO'd at any time, for any item.
Then we get punished because we have no ideaits coming. Ebay admits they have no idea but they dont get punished, they punish the sellers for it though.

Your reply should have been "I'm afraid I can't do that, Dave."

I also am having this issue. I have had an account with ebay for 9 years and over 500 items sold. Now they shut down my account unless I show receipts. I go to yard sales and sell stuff my children grow out of. I cant talk to anyone. No one responds to my emails. I'm getting so frustrated.
