Did you mean:

Pricing

Ebay is fast becoming a marketplace for wealthy people and for people stupid enough to pay over $300 for a pair of running tights. No wonder they're losing ground to other online platforms. Ebay's sellers are pricing  it right out of existence.

Re: Pricing

so there aren't any cheaper tights for sale here?  Or do you mean the ones YOU want are $300?

Re: Pricing

i counted 23 listings for running tights priced $300 or higher...luckily, there are 17,710 listings for them priced under $299--and 11,936 of those are priced $29 or lower, so us poor folks are still in the race

If you were pose an open-ended question on this board about selling prices, I think the vast majority of the sellers here would complain that the problem is that prices are being driven down by people who are selling too low.

Did the running tights SELL for $300, or did you just see a listing where they were PRICED at $300?

I ask because one common practice sellers employ when they run out of stock is to raise the price to something that is far too high until they get new stock in. Then they lower the price back down to what is reasonable. This allows the seller to retain the selling history of the listing, instead of having to start over from scratch.

As for sellers pricing it out of existence, I think eBay's quarterly reports to the SEC might show otherwise.

Re: Pricing

This practice would likely cease if ebay would only change the OOS function to per listing from global.

I suppose my only response is "That's Tights".

True, but eBay is not the one complaining about this practice.

Perhaps eBay is not as concerned about this as the OP is, and their priorities lie elsewhere.

Re: Pricing

I must be confused I thought setting a selling price was what a free market place is all about. Also in reality my impression is that the value of someting is NO More or LESS than what somebody is willing to pay for it.
