Do these sellers realize that price gouging is illegal? I mean, $1,000.00 for 1 ounce of USED hand sanitizer while our nation is facing virus that is killing people is not just wrong, it's illegal. Then there is the fact that as fast as eBay is taking them down they are slipping by, by relisting them time & time again. With the above mentioned item being used, it is potentially not safe anyways. I just don't get how these people are going out buying up as much as they can, keeping it out of the hands of those who fall in the at risk groups & then thinking they will get rich while people are at risk of dying! I just find it really sad that some go that low in our nation. I just really want to know why are these items still for sell on eBay & still being allowed to be posted?

They are doing the same thing with toilet paper. I just saw 2 four packs of scott toilet paper selling for 53.99. I put in a bid for 7.99 LOL and told them they were price gouging which is against the law.
I am trying to get a message to ebay about this but its so hard to find out where to send in complaints. lirhoader
Or 1 can of lysol spray with a 167 dollar shipping fee as I seen .These people have no heart . However reporting the price gougers is easy but I don't know how effective . There's a spot on each listing that says '' Report this item '' and then you can choose from the drop down menu '' price gouging '' . I bet e bay employees are as busy as cops in a donut factory trying to deal with it. Tulips

In order for items to be considered for "gouging" the items need to be considered "essential to life." eqidox
I wish somebody would tell the bathroom paper hoarders that . People can't find it here in any store . As a matter of fact whenever a store gets a new shipment in our friends have been text messaging each other . Trouble is you have to be pretty fast on your feet before it sells out again. My sister said the same thing is going on in Oklahoma . They finally went to a church that had a food bank and they were kindly given some there . Tulips

Thank you very very much for what you're doing for others . It's a wonderful virtue to embrace especially during these times. Tulips

If you're a Taker, you're fixated only on yourself, your survival — and what the pandemic will mean for your bottom line. james4000
Being a '' taker '' during such a horrendous crisis as this is just beyond the pale . If these '' takers'' have any conscience at all,, then I'm sure in time they will find that all the money they took in was the price THEY paid in exchange for their self respect. Tulips

US SUPPLY SHORTAGES According to a US Department of Health and Human Services survey, US hospitals have reported shortages of key supplies, including disinfectants and masks, and even food and toilet paper. The report indicated that hospitals were seeking masks and other materials from unorthodox sources such as nail salons and hardware stores. Additionally, the survey highlighted that shipments received from the federal government contained expired materials and that hospitals were in competition with each other to access masks and other PPE as shortages and price gouging increased.

Kudos to ebay for finally getting rid of the listings for facemasks. Still found one seller with 4 oz bottles of hand sanitizer at $29.99 a bottle. 100pct rating, so must be an "approved" vendor. A shame.

Here's a reply I got from a seller when I questioned his $29.99 for 4oz or hand sanitizer...
ask ebay and paypal to waive their fees
ask the USPS to wait shipping charges
ask my shipping supplier to give me my shipping supplies for free
ask my vendor if they'll give me the product for free
If you can accomplish those 4 items I have no problem lowering the price
My reply was how about donating it to a local hospital or fire/police station for first responders, or just leave it on a shelf so that somebody in need can buy it for the $2.50 it usually goes for. These are the sterling people we have justifying themselves during this pandemic. The concept of just being a decent person is escaping them. Ban them now, there should be a price for making a profit off of human misery.

Spoke too soon, KN95 masks back up on Ebay. I saw several that were fakes, I handled many in the last couple of weeks distributing them to first responders and I can recognize a fake. So now we are getting profiteering and fraud all wrapped up in one. Wow.

THANK YOU!!! What’s happening is these “potential Buyers” are going on to as many listings as possible & reporting them simply because they, personally, don’t want to pay said amount. Your 1,000% correct, these items aren’t necessities. I understand that because of this scary time in our Nation there are some that are simply out to take advantage of scared people, which I don’t agree with, but there are thousands that sell full time and depend on eBay as their sole income AND have been selling these type items long before this virus hit the States. I wish there were a way for these potential Buyers to only report extreme price gouging on brand new Sellers. People who have just recently opened an account, not Sellers who have been selling like items for years and are in good standing with eBay. Not to mention, many of these “potential Buyers” who report these listings are also messaging the Sellers directly harassing, bullying and threatening them! It’s disgusting! They think it’s okay to scold someone for doing something they deem as unethical , yet in the same breath they’re doing something far worse! The terrible things they say could have lasting effects on someone. Just my thoughts 😊
So experienced sellers should be able to sell what they want at whatever price they see fit? Are you aware that many of the new sellers trying to sell some of this stuff that Ebay has banned are actually seasoned sellers trying to keep it away from their main selling account? Sure some are actually new just trying to make a buck but most are very likely seasoned sellers.
In reviewing some of your sold items, it is clear to me that you are also price gouging on some but certainly not all of the items are needed supplies right now.
But the thing that probably got me the most was your listing for acid reducers. Ranitindine was recalled in January as potentially causing cancer. I was on that med I my doc pulled me off it immediately. There are law suits pending. But no where in your listing do you name the drug. I found that interesting.

I believe what you say is correct except that it isn't "hysteria".

11 oz of 99.5% Isopropyl Alcohol normally goes for what price? You are allowed up to 10% above the price prior to the current health crisis per the price gouging laws of most states.
