Buyer isn't happy with the cost of shipping. I gave him the dimensions and weight of the box with my zipcode and said 'See if you can find a better rate'. He just replied and said I should send a 15 pound large box media mail. --- Straight to Blocked Bidders List.
What have you got today?

Somewhat -- okay a lot-- off topic.
What is the difference between rhinestones, which I have always assumed were invented in Germany thus the name, and Swarowski crystals?
Is it just a brand name?

@femmefan1946 Rhinestones nowadays are usually made from some type of cheaper synthetic or acrylic maybe sometimes glass. Swarovski i believe are made mostly of actual quartz crystals and some other elements.

$900 watch, get an offer for $450. Ignore. Sends the offer again, same price. This time I reply, "No offers." Buyer asks what I mean by offers.
On another site, local pickup item, very large. Buyer makes an offer $900 under asking which is 40% off. He also says he'll send a shipping label. And who's going to do the packing I wonder? Not me - it's local pickup. It's this lack of knowledge of all facets of a sale that get me.
I had another buyer offer to buy a full-size jukebox, again, it's listed as local pickup only. He says "all I have to do is bubble wrap it three times." This thing is taller than I am and weighs 400 lbs. Sometimes I think it's ignorance, other times I'm sure these buyers are just looking for someone desperate enough for the sale to take huge risks. "Work with your buyer" indeed.

I had a lady purchase a small doll for $3.99 plus $3.00 shipping. The day she received it she opened a return. She paid return shipping and shipped it back to me. The box I sent it in hadn't even been opened, I refunded her $6.99. She later messaged me thanking me for accepting her return and that she was sorry but she had found the doll at Big Lots for $5.99........

That laugh was worth a lot more than $6.99 and time.

Ah yes, the buyers who believe those postal commercials that indicate we can ship a PONY from NYC to LA for only $3 if we use flat rate shipping...
Only if it's folded right.

@lastade* wrote:Recently I listed for auction at a starting price of 7.99 a vintage sewing pattern titled : HALTER DRESS & SHAWL Simplicity 7469 sewing pattern 70's size 16-18. Also the listing description and item specifics also made mention that it was a sewing pattern.
I received a bid right away but about 5 minutes after the person bid they sent a message:
Please tell me if this is an already made dress or if its just material to make a dress please respond
I was happy that I could retract her bid before she had the chance to win the auction. I would have hated to have sent it out and her not be happy she did not receive a dress.
I would have been happy that she cancelled because people that dim worry me.

OK, this is a really really old story, but I still remember it.
A seller reported that the customer had sent an angry email saying that she had broken one of her fake nails opening the package, and demanded that the seller send her $5 in recompense. Attached to the email was a picture of a broken fake fingernail (with the denuded finger tip next to it, I suppose to show the horrific extent of this tragedy).
If I remember, the seller said she would bill the customer for the surgery she had to have when she herniated herself laughing.

Supplier sent me batch of promo samples, I was adding them free with orders..no extra costs. Buyer upon receiving free sample became aggressive in his view he should have a discount since he didn't want the free item, wanted value of free item deducted off cost of the order.

Not mine, but I'm sure some of you remember it> A buyer complained that their shirt was received but was missing it sleeves (the item was a vest).

If the item qualified for media mail, nothing wrong with a 15 lb box. The limit is 70.
