Last night I received a message regarding MP stating that partial refunds will be implemented in the summer.
When that happens, I'll consider it. Just today I'm issuing a $2.50 postage refund (thought it was going to be 6 lbs+ but got it to 5 lb 15.4 oz)
I know many people have switched and some have no issue, but there are far too many posts from sellers who have seen a decline in sales right after the switch.
The whole thing made me worry about already sluggish sales tanking even further.
Buyers (and sellers) need to feel secure with purchases.
I'm not even in the mood to list much although I've got stuff taunting me. 😃

Are daily deposits mandatory or optional? I have an Etsy store as well and you can choose to be paid daily/weekly/bi-weekly/monthly, even after selection say you have it set to monthly but need the money you can then request it sooner. I'm sure MP will be run pretty much the same way. You do have to pay per item sold, that is a downfall which will only be passed onto the consumer I'm sure.
Daily deposits are mandatory right now but the managed payments team is working on more options they plan to announce soon.

Ebay seems to be doing their best to NOT explain managed payments to the masses so I have to wonder what they're hiding.
The info is pretty much here in this policy that you can access anytime you want.

This was formally announced in the Spring seller update: https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/seller-updates/2019-spring/payments.html
It's supposed to go into effect next month. I'm interested to see how this feature gets implemented.
not me, i a terrified to see how it gets implemented, probably with e bay's usually great propensity for thoroughness and microsoft's debugging approach.

Problem with manage payments, you can't see this stuff until you join. But thanks, if my money went to paypal instead of my bank will save time. Still have to hold out, that $.25 per listing doesn't sound alot but adds up when you sell 300-400 orders a month and 50% is combine shipping. Sold and combine 7 items this morning so would have had to tag on a extra $1.75 to the buyer.
when i spoke to ebay and managed payments on this maybe a couple of months ago, their response was ' ... open a business checking account' which in turn costs addition at virtually any bank. yes managed payments will cost more than paypal and adding their suggested ... business checking account adds to that cost. i am just very very lucky with the $.25/item that i rarely have to combine orders due to the niche i sell in. but i guess i'm innnnnnnnnnnnn to see where ebay takes us ...........l

i told ebay the same, that it would be a paper trail nightmare for sellers for the same reasons. and that monthly deposit you want? same here, but in form of 'routine paycheck'. both c/s and managed payments section blew me off with suggestion for me to get a business checking account.
(heh, i actually managed to speak with managed payments section by telling c/s rep that i had issues with managed payments that i wanted to be put at ease with before i voluntarily signed up...i'm still not signed up!)

this part (from management payments) is also very scary with the number of disputes ebay encourages with their policies ...
Payments Dispute Fees
Upon the conclusion of a Dispute investigation and/or re-presentment that results in you being found responsible for the chargeback or other disputed amounts, we charge a $20 payments dispute fee, excluding any applicable sales tax, for each Dispute. You may appeal the payments dispute fee within 30 days from when we invoice the payments dispute fee if you believe that you have been charged in error.
as is this section:
3. Sellers' Managed Payments Fees
We charge two types of fees for managing payments: a payments processing fee when payment is processed for a transaction, and a payments dispute fee when a chargeback or other dispute for a managed payments transaction is adversely resolved against you (chargebacks and other disputes initiated directly with payment service providers are referred to collectively as “Disputes”).
Fees for our management of payments are in addition to Fees charged to you by eBay for eBay Services. eBay will charge you for payments processing and payments dispute fees on behalf of eBay Commerce via eBay's monthly invoice for eBay Services.

Where can I find this announcement?

Tagging - I have managed payments on Etsy and I do like it but it can be more paperwork. My hesitation is as another posted - I simply don't trust Ebay not to mess it up. I started selling there after all the glitches were worked out but I think we will continue to see problems here on Ebay once everyone opts in.
I'm all for opening up the door for buyers to use other payment forms - but I'm wondering if they will have a major marketing campaign to notify people that the site now does accept more than paypal.
