Last night I received a message regarding MP stating that partial refunds will be implemented in the summer.
When that happens, I'll consider it. Just today I'm issuing a $2.50 postage refund (thought it was going to be 6 lbs+ but got it to 5 lb 15.4 oz)
I know many people have switched and some have no issue, but there are far too many posts from sellers who have seen a decline in sales right after the switch.
The whole thing made me worry about already sluggish sales tanking even further.
Buyers (and sellers) need to feel secure with purchases.
I'm not even in the mood to list much although I've got stuff taunting me. 😃

I was thinking once PayPal and partial refunds were in place, if I were to be invited, I would accept. Then came the announcement of the 25 cent per listing sold fee. Now I will just wait until MP is mandatory.

I see more posts from regular sellers who have not opted in when it comes to small sales. I think joining managed payments has actually boosted those sellers' visibility as they have lost sales due to not accepting Paypal. Just my opinion.

Oops... hit post instead of quote.

This was formally announced in the Spring seller update: https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/seller-updates/2019-spring/payments.html
It's supposed to go into effect next month. I'm interested to see how this feature gets implemented.

I'm waiting until mandatory, wait 2-4 days to get paid but have to ship out, daily payments means daily balancing check book and have to send money to paypal for postage, .25 per listing sold makes it cost more then paypal. I run 2 accounts and will have to close one when I do, just too much time and effort

You do not have to send money to paypal. You have a default back up payment source at paypal which can be your account that eBay managed payments sends your money to.
I am assuming you have a paypal business account?
Good Luck Selling!

Why would sellers voluntarily give up the unauthorized use and item not received (credit card) protection offered by PayPal?

Problem with manage payments, you can't see this stuff until you join.
Ebay seems to be doing their best to NOT explain mangled payments to the masses so I have to wonder what they're hiding. Ebay doesn't allow the listing of mystery boxes on their site but that's exactly what they're doing with MP.

Got that notice as well. I do very, very few "partials", but I do see the current method as a drawback for choosing not to "opt in".
I was invited from the very start, but as others have voiced, the frequent deposits are a drawback......................................, and ????, will they also be able to dip into our bank accounts for funds at will, such as in the way that PayPal freezes funds when an issue arises from a buyer.
My wife has enough trouble keeping here checkbook straight as it is now without frequent "in & outs" cropping up from eBay.
I know we are all (if we choose to stay) going to be in it, but if I had a choice of "deposit frequency", the scales, at least for me, might tilt a bit more towards "managed payments" now.

I have Managed Payments on another site and love it. Took some time for 'them' to work out kinks and for now I'm holding off on MP with eBay -- just waiting for that warm fuzzy feeling before I leap.
Would love to see eBay grandfather long-time sellers in accepting PayPal as well as MP. We shall see and I don't believe for now that there are enough 'written-in stone' policies yet. MP will be a good thing and will be major changes for many sellers. No body likes changes and sometimes we just need to ride out the storm.
One thing I love is when my monthly deposit is made -- I owe nothing. Yes, monthly is my choice and if I want the funds early it's easy to get -- normally takes a few hours and I've got the funds!

A few times over the past few months I have wanted to purchase an item and gotten as far as checkout and figured out that the seller is participating in MP program and doesn't accept PayPal. I immediately hit the back button and find a different seller. MP has way too many unknowns for me and I will never participate in the program.
When it becomes mandatory for all sellers, I will be finished on eBay. I have already started preparing myself for that day. eBay is not doing a great job with what should be their primary focus and I refuse to have them control my revenue. Just my personal feelings, not angry or ranting, but I have had enough.
