I just got the following email... from what i can tell its because i have GSP enabled on these items. I'm not sure why the items were completely removed instead of just turning off GSP. Is there anyway to recover the listings or do i have to start them over from scratch?
After reviewing your eBay account, we've taken the following action:
- Violating listings have been removed. A list of items that were removed can be viewed at the bottom of this message.
- We have credited all associated fees except for the final value fee for your listing(s).
Your listing or product was reviewed after the rights owner notified us that your item violated their rights.
Importing certain products from other countries without the rights owners permission may violate their intellectual property rights. Because of this, eBay reviews these items when we are contacted by the rights owner.
We encourage you to contact the rights owner directly to better understand their position, as well as the countries or regions that they are concerned about. You will then want to exclude these regions in your postings and will also need to state that you won't sell to buyers in these areas.

If you have more questions, contact our policy experts:

Please be sure your current and future listings follow these guidelines, keeping in mind that additional violations could result in the suspension of your account.
The rights owner or an agent authorized to act on behalf of the rights owner, Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P., notified eBay that this listing violates intellectual property rights. When eBay receives a report of this type of violation, we remove the listing to comply with the law.
Thanks,
eBay

You will likely have to relist it. Buying & selling imported items isn't actually wrong, but major companies cry over "lost profits" and bully private citizens over it. It's why I no longer buy anything made by Sony.

I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that the ink has expired. What do people do with expired ink?

'eBay has a program called VERO which allows intellectual property rights owners to object to listings based on trademark or copyright.
The program was initially created iresponse to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 2008, which provides eBay with "safe harbor" from liability for copyright violations by its users, as long as eBay promply removes the content (in this case, ab eBay listing) that is alleged to infrige their rights.
While the program was designed to help eBay compy with the DMCA, eBay has expanded its scope to cover other instances where IP owners objects based on trademarks or distribution agreements.
All that aside ..
When you started selling on eBay, you acknowledged their user agreement which says:
"Additionally, we reserve the right to refuse, modify, or terminate all or part of our Services to anyone for any reason at our discretion."
Which basically means they can end any of your listings for any reason at any time.

The same thing they do with expired beer and expired batteries and many other products. They use them because there is usually no harm in using them.
Did you know that most foods with an expiration date are not required to have an expiration date, and most of them have to do with quality rather than safety?
Baby formula requires an expiration date. People should probably pay attention to dairy and medicine expiration dates - but those are not set in stone. Pretty much everything else is determined by the manufacturer and is primarly driven by marketing.

People use the expired ink. I've sold a lot of it over the years with zero issues.
See lucky's answer below re expiration dates.

Geez, I've been gone too long. I've liked lucky a lot lately.
I would like to add to his post about expiration dates that many are arbitrarily chosen by the manufacturer(s) so that you will unnecessarily discard "expired" items and buy more.
I've had more than a few people with many, many years of medical school and pharmacy training tell me the expiration dates on OTC and prescription drugs could be extended with no consequences.
Disclaimer: There are always exceptions. As lucky said (there I go again, agreeing, lol), I wouldn't mess with baby formula dates or any antibiotic that has to be refrigerated, etc. But do I pay attention to the expiration date on a bottle of Tylenol capsules? Nope.

Don't offer shipping out side the USA on those items.

But it is HP which pulled the listings,so HP must not like the expiration date,it gives them a bad name,
Or HP think they are not authentic.
If they are that old,it could jamm the printer and give HP a bad name.
As for dairy products,I have gotten sick a few times buying creamer close to expiration date and ice cream which is not close to expiration date.
Altho Kroger has a policy, once the frozen items/fresh meat have left the premise and returned, they dont put them back on the shelf, they ditch them

As far as expired ink, i have sold ink as old as 15 years old. I have only got 1 complaint of ink not working and it was only a couple years expired out of hundreds sold. Also Canon ink doesn't even have an expiration date on the box.
