POLICY VIOLATIONS

Anonymous
Not applicable

I HAVE HAD 3 AUCTIONS SHUT DOWN FOR NO GOOD REASON because of POLICY VIOLATIONS.  I SPOKE TO THE POLICY DEPARTMENT AND THEY WERE CLUELESS AS TO WHY and GAVE LAME EXCUSES SO I WANTED TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR.  THE PERSON TOLD ME THEY WOULD GET BACK IN 24 to 48 HOURS BUT no contact yet AFTER 6 DAYS.   What Customer service - As a seller I am required to jump thru all these hoops and I work Very Hard to get things right but what thanks do I get for being a Top Rated Seller = Pull my items for No good reason and THEN ingore me by not calling me back.  I have about had enough - another year or so and I AM DONE!  EBAY is OUT OF CONTROL AGAIN!  My guess is that they don't use Humans anymore when they decide to pull an item and rely on machines WHICH IS TOTALLY IDIOTIC as a machine cannot descern what the item being sold actually is and they rely on Keywords which could (in any combination) trip the system. RIP eBay = Keep mistreating your sellers and it won't matter how many buyers you have if all the quality sellers hang it up...

Let's be clear, this is a software program that activates on keywords, there is no AI involved.

Yeah, unfortunately eBay is just going right down the toilet lately. They continually forget that without Sellers, there is no eBay. Very sad and frustrating.

Okay.  Where I'm from, that is considered a primitive AI.  I know that definitions vary, because I know that definitions of problem-solving and decision-making vary.

Whatever it's called, it's what eBay sellers are up against and we can rail at the unfairness and unevenness of the results, or we can expend the time and energy more productively -- because its use is not going to stop.  (We can hope that it gets better, more sophisticated.)

Re: POLICY VIOLATIONS

I understand completely. You're probably right about the key word idea and computer supervision.  My issue is slightly different cause my product was a siren. They removed my listing cause it was police related, but do a search for police badges, bullet proof vests, tactical belts and boots, they sell it all! He'll one ad plainly says "police siren" on it...and they have made 53 sales. It doesn't make any sense at all. I'm frustrated with ebay. I mean FEEBAY

Re: POLICY VIOLATIONS

We just had a lab mixer pulled because we said it was on a pharmaceutical cart (meaning that it was food grade/ultra clean for use in labs).  The "cart" is just a stand that the mixer sits on.  There are 238 other mixers on eBay that are the same as ours.  I called to ask if I could remove the wording and relist it and all I got were agents parroting the policy with no common sense and telling me that we would be suspended from selling on eBay if we relist it.  Absolutely ridiculous.  EBay had gotten so much better at customer service but this is AI at it's worst with no humans monitoring it.  We have sold on eBay for 23 years and spend thousands of dollars in fees.

Where else will you list your items?  We are fed up too.

The phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that means giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.

Or parroting the book, instead of hearing what the actual problem is.

Re: POLICY VIOLATIONS

The same thing just happened to me: they stated the Ralph Lauren items were fakes, and I contacted them stating they had the QR codes, and I had receipts from Ralph Lauren showing I purchased them there. I was told they would contact me back in 3 days, and it's been about a week.  I have been selling for over 20 years and have 100% feedback. It is getting time for me to move on also!!
