I don't know how much more i can take.. I went to list some tops today,,,

started fresh,, created a new listing.

there are no predefined item specifics with drop downs..!!!!

only suggested specifics..( see pic)when i accept them,, it creates basically custom  defined specifics,.,. which we all know are not findable or searchable..omg,,there is no brand drop down, no size drop down,,nothing!

I know you gave me an email to send info to. however.. this is beyond just sending an email.. this is ridiculous.

how can we knowledgeable sellers get the person who makes actual decisions in the backend programming department to contact us and work specifically on these problems..    there is no way to "fix" what is going on.. every message to the programming department has the listing work flow more screwed up... 

all of this OF COURSE.. affects search results and buyer satisfaction..or rather continues the exodus of viable buyers .  buyers will not tolerate having to figure the "new" correct way to search for items they are looking for.. there are too many other options out there.. buyers don't want the hassel..... especially when predictable, reliable. familar  search functions on other retail web sites do not have these constant problems!

So what am i missing? one can no longer input size on clothing??  I tried everything, and it simple will not let you list the item...very frusterating

I just chatted with a CSR who said, and I quote:

"I understand your concerns. Following feedback from both buyers and sellers we updated this option on our listings.  I would recommend to continue to input as much information as possible between the item title and item description  (which I can no longer do) to ensure buyers will come across your listings should they search for an item you have listed or similar. "

"You can still input as much information or item details into the item description.  I do appreciate your feedback however and I'd be more than happy to pass it through to our listing team"    'team?'  I guess it would require a whole bunch of people to completely make the site useless for both buyers and sellers.

What's the purpose of having a refined search, say for a watch with a particular band material (as pictured), if the seller can't provide that information when creating or revising a listing in a way that makes him or her confident buyers will find it.   There was no option for this when I revised a recent listing, so buyers who use the search as it currently exists will not see my item if they refine for say 'stainless steel'.

Extra good news!  When listing a Seiko watch, eBay suggested the following item specific that could be added.   Brand:  Quartz     "Quartz" is one of a number of types of movements that a watch might contain.   It is not, has not and likely never will be a 'brand' of watch.   Did eBay outsource critical thinking and planning to a 1000 monkeys with keyboards?

Hi, Siam...thank you for your replies, very helpful. Tell me, these "changes" or whatever you want to call them that you are seeing...did it just start recently? The reason I ask...I have my own 3rd Party listing program that upgrades to any changes the eBay developers make. One of which is the Item Specifics. I haven't received a notice from my guy telling me IS have been updated. Or is this something that needs to settle down (like Zamo mentioned)? Thanks for your reply.

This happening with Baseball cards and when I try to relist something, all item specifics are not there. When I manually add them they don't show up in the listing. Also when I try to update a listing I get the same issue.

I called eBay about this and they said everything is working fine on there end. They had me clean out my cookies, browser history and restart the computer. Issue is it is happening on two different desktops, my mobile phone and tablet. But eBay is saying it works just fine. THEY ARE ***** LYING! I have told them to fix it or I will call my state attorney generals office because I have a contract with you and you are not fulfilling it.

This is happening with my user account: CARDAIDLLC and I just tried it with my COMPUTERAIDLLC accounts!

We all need to contact our states offices so eBay can get the message that they have a problem that is stopping people from listing entirely!

I have the same problem and opened up a support ticket with Ebay about an hour ago. She said it could take up to 72 hours to fix and that they did not have any active tickets open for this issue. You can still list but you have to manually add each item specific category name field,  Very annoying !

I tried that and the item specifics didn't even show up and when revising any specifics in the listing isn't there so it pretty much means I cannot list anything because the buyers won't find it!

When I called eBay last night, the rep said that this was a known issue and had already been submitted to the tech team.  I'd like an estimate on when this is going to be fixed as things are at a standstill here.  If I can't list tops or dresses or certain men's items, I will not have much to list!  Only certain categories of clothing worked like bras, skirt and pants.  

Every morning and evening, I end a certain amount of listings and sell similar, changing up listings that have no watchers or are too old.  This HELPS SALES!  I need to be able to do this and we have tons of custom items specifics like all the measurements that are now ALL GONE!

STILL NOT FIXED!  I called yesterday afternoon as well; got the same answer - "They don't know anything about this problem.  We'll get right on it and give you a call back within 48 hours".  It started with dresses, then crept to other clothing and now it's just about every other categories as well.  How did this happen?  (and when you find out, make sure it doesn't happen again - this has happened before!)  And why no announcements anywhere?  Everything is GREEN on current system status!  When things like this happen, please make an announcement or add it to the System Status chart - put it somewhere so 1, you/ebay don't get 190584676549078 phone calls and 2, people know you are working on the problem and 3, so we don't waste our time trying different things to get the Item Specifics to populate, only to give up after an hour spinning our wheels and then spend 15 minutes on the phone with someone that doesn't have a clue!  

Decrease in listings = decrease in sales ebay!  Get it together!
