I recently sold 3 items because I needed the money to buy something else.
I have a “payment must be received within 24 hours” notice on my auctions.
out of my 3 items sold I’m still waiting for payment 3 days later on one and over 24 hours later for the other. I have contacted both buyers and received no reply. I don’t mind waiting a day or two to be paid usually if there is communication but not being paid and no communication is infuriating to me, especially when I need the money.
why does EBay allow this? It seems I have no option but to sit and wait?
I’m tempted to just relist the items. Why won’t EBay allow sellers to leave negative feedback for deadbeat buyers? At least this say sellers would have a head’s up.
I keep checking my email to see if I’ve been contacted or paid and nothing and it really is making me angry at this point.
I’m not a person who runs a store, I just use EBay to sell things I don’t need occasionally and I’m really getting I sick of not being able to do anything about dedbeats.

And yet in a thread with 75 posts in it you are responsible for 45 of them.
Come on now. By now you are well aware of how the Unpaid item dispute works on Ebay. If you cannot live with those terms then dont sell here. It doesnt matter how long you have been doing this. If its bothering you that much then you need to step away at least for a little while and take a break. Come back to it in the new year maybe. If selling here is not that important to you as you claim then taking a breather will not be difficult either.

And my posts ....in my thread........have been REPLIES. I don't just keep repeating the same nonsense that 10 people have already posted here like "don't sell here" or "file a UID".
I mean....gosh, what novel concepts. If only I'd thought of filing a UID? As if I had any other option?

In my case, what i do. Is to just cancel the listing-sell item and re-list for fixed price. I don't do any auctions, as I had a lot of the issues that you are having. And what i learn, is that if the winner of the auction doesn't pay within 24 hours. He/She is not going to pay.

@roscothunder wrote:Dude. You can absolutely delete your account. The PO is slow as a snail right now so I still have one the one item I sold that I'm waiting on.
And I didn't ask questions....I was venting. When I said "I seem to have no option but to sit and wait?" Which is EXACTLY WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO WITH A UID CASE? That was RHETORICAL. I know I just have to sit and wait and take it up the behind because EBay does NOTHING to stop deadbeats.
When I asked why Ebay allow this? I mean why do they allow deadbeats to keep their accounts?
I don't care if you "participate" just don't repeat the same thing as everyone else and READ what was actually written.
I'm not new to Ebay. This isn't my first rodeo. UID is a joke.
And "selling online isn't for everyone"? Okay Master Yoda. I've only been doing it for 15 years and not just here. Ebay and it's bias towards buyers isn't for everyone. There are much easier ways to sell online these days, the days of Ebay being the only game in town are over.
Also....(and stop me if you're heard this one) I'm not an online seller. I don't do this for a living. I don't do it as a side hustle (although I have in the past), I don't flip stuff. I just wanted to sell some guitar pedals so I could buy more guitar equipment.
Ebay is obviously very important to you, cool. It's not to me. And the hassle isn't worth it. You haven't told me anything I didn't know (or that 10 other people haven't already said in the thread).
It seems like a lot of you just like to hear the sounds of your own keyboards.
I'm not a "dude"! I know you like to be rude and insulting to anyone that tends to see things differently than you do, but it is so unnecessary. Civil conversations are expected here. So take a breath and remember that there are many different points of view on any given subject. Because some may be different than your does not make them wrong, it only makes them different than yours.
This constant attacking of those that you perceive has not being worthy of comment because in your judgement they don't have the experience that you do is completely off base and usually an assumption on your part say far more about you than it does about them. There isn't anything wrong with those that choose to post with a posting ID and not their selling ID. Because you don't like it doesn't really matter. It is their choice and doesn't devalue what they offer on various threads. You just need to be a little less stringent and a little more open minded to see. All points of view are important.
No you can not "delete" your account. Only Ebay can do that. You can close your account but you can not "delete" it.

Typically a "?" at the end of a sentence denotes a question. My apologies that your intent in using them was different. None of us had any way of knowing that without your telling us. If you wanted to start a thread to vent only and did not want anyone to comment, then you should have said that, however it then makes no sense to start a thread on the community forums as that threads typically have participation by others. Sounds like you simply made a mistake in where you came to post your vent and how you posted your vent. Clearly we all simply misunderstood your intent.
I never said, suggested or implied that you were new to Ebay.
"Also....(and stop me if you're heard this one) I'm not an online seller. I don't do this for a living. " What? So to be an online seller by your definition, you have to be doing it for a living?? So anybody else that isn't doing it for a "living" isn't an online seller even though they sell online? You don't have to sell online for a "living" to be an online seller. You simply have to sell online!
Good luck in whatever you choose to do in 2021. Happy Holidays!

I can delete my account. Closing the account is the same thing, quit being so pedantic dude.

I get it but auctions are literally the only reason I ever sold stuff on Ebay though. Well, that and habit.
If I were just going to sell for fixed prices I'd use other sites, which is what I'll do from now on.
When someone doesn't pay it's just too much hassle on Ebay.
2 out of 3 of my most recent auctions were no pay and Ebay doesn't punish those buyers at all, it just makes the seller jump through hoops. Just not worth it.

I've been called worse. But closing and deleting are not the same thing. Ebay wouldn't even let you close your account until at least February 11th. Certainly you can stop selling, but you account is still active and will remain so until Ebay has determined enough time has passed since your last transaction in case the buyer has an issue. That is all covered in the link I provided you earlier.

Look up pedantic in the dictionary before your next reply.
I close the account and don't sell....it gets deleted dude. I can absolutely delete my account.

TL, DR.
Sellers have lives you know.

Not sure why I need to. I understood the first time you used the word.
FYI, your account is not closed. Not yet. You have submitted a request to close your account. Ebay has not yet closed it due to recent transactions on your account. Once your account is actually closed the words Not A Registered User [NARU} will follow your Ebay ID.

ok Dude.

If a buyer has not paid within24 hours s/he is not going to pay.
Where do you get your information?
ALL buyers have 48 hours to pay. Do some more reading.
12-20-2020 02:16 AM
"Have" but if they take 48 hours more than likely they aren't going to pay and if you're as accomplished a seller as you make yourself out to be with your "expert advice" you know this. If someone hasn't paid in 48 hours good luck but in my experience that person usually isn't going to pay or is going to reply with some excuse for why they haven't paid or can't pay.
Ebay should have an autopay system. If you win the auction it should automatically pay the seller from your account. There's no reason not to have that in this day and age of linked bank accounts, paypal etc.
But that would require Ebay caring about all sellers as opposed to just buyers and large BIN sellers.
12-20-2020 04:51 AM
How about directing me to the place where I claim I have expert advice or am an accomplished seller?
So, in YOUR experience, if someone has not paid in 48 hours, they are not going to pay?
There are probably more than a few sellers here who have had different experiences.
And I think I'm finished replying to your original post.

You can set settings unpaid item case open automatically & send message to the buyer says it will affect your account. So Buyer will pay immediately
