So now per Andrew Coumo if your in New York State and your in public you must wear a mask and yes, this does include fabric masks. Fabric masks are completely washable. Your not going to catch a virus from the mask. Your going to catch it from someone who is not wearing one.
So where do you expect everyone in NYS to find a mask? There are none in stores. Time for ebay to lift their ban and let anyone who wants to list them list them. As far as price gouging, the more competition of people listing them, the lower the prices will be. Competition has a way of doing that. People can search and find lowest to highest afterall.
Ebay, wake up!

ETA: And it's easier than what we had to wear through two summers of forest fires when we had ash-strewn air - then most things didn't work and we had those uncomfortable N95 types.
It was no picnic when Mt. St. Helens first blew. Talk about ash!
I remember that - I watched it blow from a 6th story window of the old city hospital in Seattle where I was working at the time - we were on one of the hills and we could see the plume even from there. My poor cousin was going to school in Pullman - she's was recovering from double pneumonia, so instead of her making her own way back to her folks's house as normally most of us would have done, my uncle told her to stay put and he would come out and get her. He described the ash blanketing everything, even 300 miles away in Pullman, and trying to breathe was terrible.

yeah, so?? This is eBay, not those other sites. BTW I work for no one...too busy enjoying the golden years watching all these young 'uns here make fools of themselves.
I could care less about face masks. I have no intention of wearing a mask.
and if by the remotest of possibilities I should need one, have got a few brand new N95s that have been out in the garage workshop for the past 20 years...

I guess some folks just don't understand ethics in a time like this, but never mind I have my opinion, you have yours and never the twain shall meet.

So it's ok for you to waste masks that you'll never wear rather than donate them to people who need them?

I hope when it is all said and done, Cuomo makes a push to get more hospitals built in New York City. They construct high-rise apartments and condos wherever there is an empty space, cramming in as many people as possible, but no new hospitals. With a population of just over 10 million people in New York City alone, there's 66 hospitals. 66. Same thing with New Jersey. Everywhere you look, new condo complexes, affordable housing complexes, etc.........but not one new hospital going up. I know this is swaying off subject, but since we are talking about NY, I figure I'd throw that in...........

Who's wasting masks??? I never said I had an abundance of them...I think my count of 4 should suffice for my household should they ever be needed. There is no shortage of masks in my area so I think it should be OK to hang onto them. The world isn't going to come to an end because I choose to keep my precious 4 masks! This so-called shortage of masks is not wide spread and suppliers are already moving stock back onto store shelves. Just think of all those thousands upon thousands of hand made masks that are going to get tossed into the corner in a couple of weeks when there is no longer a demand for them! Now that's what I'd call waste!!

And you're blocked from selling them at an attractive price to someone who needs them.
And you think that's a good thing?

Brand new...been sitting for 20 years?
You know those things expire, right?

So??? they work just fine for working & cleaning around the workshop which is why they are there. Since it matters not whether they sit there for another 20 yrs or get used as I so choose, it's of no concern to the rest of the world and is totally irrelevant.
I think your cockroaches need some attention...maybe they need a face mask...

LOL! LMAF! What a hoot you bunch are!
My personal property to use or not to use... and I am not as stupid as those who thought they'd list whatever they had or from an open box,etc just to make a buck. Purchased for use in the workshop; they work just fine for working and cleaning around the workshop & that's where they'll stay and/or get used as needed. Since it matters not whether they sit there for another 20 yrs or get used as I so choose, it's of no concern to the rest of the world... totally irrelevant.

Now that's the real joke...or NOT take it or leave it..

I'm hoping that the US will FINALLY take a cue from Asia, where everyone wears masks whenever they're sick. It's considered basic courtesy to not spread your germs to everyone else when you're out in public.

when I'm sick I stay at home, no going out in public until completely recovered...no mask needed.
Taking the necessary precautions, using logic and sensibility will overcome this crisis, but this fear mongering needs to stop. It's not a healthy attitude. There needs to be more positivity and folks just need to concentrate on taking one day at a time and living life as close to normal as is possible. It's a long road ahead of us all yet so we need some calmness.

Didn't this virus come from Asia though?
04-15-2020 09:09 PM
South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan have had far better control over the virus than the West despite their population densities in part because mask-wearing is a part of the culture there.

I wish I would have realized NJ was also requiring them. I've been donating, but I've been selling some also on a site that allows it to replenish my supply to keep donating. Anytime a shipping label prints that is from a place like CA or NY, I've been throwing in extra masks for free. I will start doing it for NJ as well.
