Neutral Feedback with no explanation

Hello all,

 

I have been on ebay since 1997 and have only received positive feedback. A buyer recently gave me neutral feedback but did not explain why. They just said "Fair warning should tell you something". A reference to my ebay name I guess. This buyer did ask for a shipping discount after the end of auction which I politely declined. I packed the item very well. So, not sure what to make of it. Should I just move on and not worry?

Just move on. You can comment on the feedback.

I agree with toys, move on, not worth your energy and time.

 

Maybe leave a polite comment if it'll make you feel better, but I'm not sure what you could say in this instance.

 

Sometimes it's better to just let it be.

Failing to move on would be a waste of time, energy and emotion - and accomplishes nothing.

It's too vague to lend itself to any action, except a polite reply if you want.

 

Maybe change your ebay name?? But I think if you did, this buyer would still write another sort of vague neutral feedback. Unavoidable.

Who knows what rattles around in peoples' heads?  I would suspect that your possible reason for the gray donut  might be accurate.  Otherwise, a bigger issue would have likely netted you a red one. Give a tasteful, non-emotional response, if you like, and move on.

Keep in mind that your buyer has what we refer to in shuffleboard (my major in college) as "the hammer;" i.e., s/he has one more chance to respond to your response.

Feedback Comment #1 - Buyer: Vague, mildly irritating neutral comment.
Feedback Comment #2 - Seller: Professionally defensive response.
Feedback Comment #3 - Buyer: Less vague, more direct, rather angry rebuttal.

And that's the end of the exchange. Buyer 2, Seller 1. Game over.

I'd leave it alone. Don't poke the bear, as they say. 

 

P.S. You still have 100% positive feedback, since neutrals don't factor into the equation.

The name is from Alice in Wonderland. Why would someone have a problem with it?

Thank you for all the helpful feedback.

 

I had four items sell that day and that was the only feedback I received.

Lately it seems people just don't leave feedback at all anymore.

 

Changed my user id (hopefully no one can complain about a Wonderland reference).

I'm thinking no response is the best response. Did place them on my blocked list, though,

I would be surprised if they bid on another auction of mine.

I recently received my first ever Neutral Feedback. I sold a pair of David Yurman Sterling Silver and 18k Gold Earrings. The comment stated they were disappointed the Silver had some tarnishing and she had to have her Jewelry polish it. First off, all silver tarnishes, secondly the pictures show that, thirdly, they were vintage and most people request me to leave the contrasting colors, it makes the gold pop.

Well, it if makes you feel any better, i've been on ebay 20 years and my one and only neutral feedback says "Very happy with merchandise and right on time!"

Tarnish is rust, and should be removed,it can permanently damage silver..if you use a jewelers soft polishing cloth it will remove it and leave the patina..big difference between tarnish and patina.
