For those that don't know, these collection emails are a scam, just spoke to them. Don't click on any of the links just forward to spoof@ebay.com.au I'm more than a little concerned as I suspect they have been hacked, scammers have way too much information. I'm about to change my password!

A quick and (so far) perfect test to see if an email is a spoof.
Phishing emails include a link they want you to click. Instead of clicking it, just hover your mouse over the link. In the lower left corner of your screen a box will pop up with the URL of where that link goes,
If it doesn’t say (for example) “https://ebay.com” then it is a fraud. (eBay instead on automatically making this a hot link. It is not - don't bother to click it - it is not a part of my message)
Ignore the “from” at the top of the page. Anyone can enter anything there. So even if that says eBay.com it is meaningless.

A sure way to identify these scams is to check your eBay messages folder, if the communication only came to you via email and is not also in your eBay message folder, then its a scam. As in this case, for myself anyway, the message is not in my eBay message folder, only my email. It is quite possible that those poor people who have been locked out of their accounts have clicked on links and/or followed instructions have now been locked out of their accounts. I don't think it is in anyone's best interest to assume a systems error either, in this case considering all the discrepancies. It makes sense to take precautions.

Just for info............the Ebay for Business facebook page says it is not a spoof.......meaning it's a glitch. They said if you are paid up, not to worry.

Then if that is ture, take 5 minutes, post here, and let us know what is happening.
If it is a glitch, what is the big mystery. It is not like it is their first one.

eBay was hacked two months ago but they don't like to talk about that. 148 million accounts exposed to that breach and there is no reason to believe they have that under control. A quick Google search will bring up heaps of news items but sadly not much from eBay. Take precautions I say.

Ours was on hold as well, the email we received still made it seem as if t was our fault and they removed the hold "as a courtesy". What garbage...lost all my Monday posts, biggest day of the week. Lost thousands in revenue.
