This is the first time experiencing this as an Ebay seller. Shipped on Oct 17, USPS tracking showed out for delivery on Oct 21, then on the tracking, there is a red alert saying "awaiting delivery -- we now anticipate delivery of your package the next business day" ... however, buyer just opened an 'item not received' case. In her notes she states "It was sent to wrong address that is not associated with my PayPal acct". I sent the item to the account associated with her Ebay account, I dont choose this, it populates it on my shipping label automatically. I dont know anything about her 'PayPal' account address.
When I check the tracking, USPS still shows an error with no update. Either they have lost it or it is on its way back to me as the sender. I opened a missing package case with the USPS. Is there anything else I should do for this buyer? She says she still wants the item if we can find it. I only have until November 6th to resolve the case.

Once you open a missing package with USPS, put the tracking number into the claim
If it was on the way back to you USPS would have that as a status.

the carrier's scanning device has built in GPS, so if u call or go to your post office, they can tell you what is going on.
if the pkg was sent to a business address, and the business was closed at time of attempted delivery, they will say delivery will be attempted next business day.
if not a business address, it's possible the carrier did not get to it and it's still on the truck.
did u ask the buyer if their paypal address and ebay address are the same?
and if not let her know, sellers can only ship to the ebay address on file unless the buyer changes the ship to address at check out.

Respond to the case with the tracking number.
Then say something like... "Package was shipped to the address you provided to ebay."
Then see how ebay handles it.

In such case I will respond with a proof of sending the package to the Buyer to a verified by EBay shipping address. I'll write the tracking number, and upload images of proof: packing slip with shown Buyer's address, shipping label with shown Buyer's address, screenshot of USPS tracking history. Nothing more to that, and wait for EBay response. PayPal has nothing to do with that, no matter what the Buyer says.
