Longtime eBay seller. Computer literate. Google-literate. Forum-literate. Still lost.
For years, I've taken photos of my products with an iPhone, dropped them to a Mac, and drag-dropped them to listings with zero problems. Within the last month, this has become near-impossible with eBay rejecting the photos as not in the correct format. I was able to use heic and png for as long as I can remember. Now, no matter whether I sue Google Chrome or Safari, clear cookies and cache, etc, it won't work. I can manage uploaded through the mobile app, but otherwise, I'm struggling from both a MacBook and iMac.
I've gone through the process of updating browsers, operating systems, etc. I've gone through clearing cache and cookies and all that.
So, what am I missing? Appreciate any help that anyone here can offer. Thanks!

On iPhone go to
Settings
Camera
Formats
Check Most Compatible
If this doesn't work try exporting your heic files to jpegs
Good luck!

I wonder if an eBay update hasn't created transfer problems. I know I've been having recent problems with webp files which is a new Google image file protocol which neither of the platforms I sell on right now accepts. (I don't have to deal with heic formats very often as I don't have an iPhone or mac).
Agree with the above - export your files to simple .jpg and see if that doesn't work.

I use the same process— iPhone to MacBook and Then drag.
All My images are JPEG, and I have no problems.

I am not super literate on any of the things you listed, but it sounds liked you have a locked setting somewhere. Every once in awhile on my camera, not on a phone, I will accidentally hit the lock feature and it prevents all kinds of things from happening.

Thanks for this. Despite the fact I would convert the heic into JPG once I moved them over to my Mac, that didn't work. Something must happen in the air drop process that corrupts the file. But your most compatible solution worked like a charm. Thank you!
