Did you mean:

Is it really "the economy'?

"The US ecomony grew at a blistering rate despite high interest rates" - CNN

"US GDP grew at a 4.9% annualized rate over three months ending in September" - ABC

"U.S. Economic Growth Accelerated in the Third Quarter" - New York Times

"Amazon reports better-than-expected results, as revenue jumps 13%" - CNBC

Well, so much for THAT being a reason why we're seeing slow sales 😕

Bingo—they are milking the consumer for as much as they can get.

All good ideas except the only one you can do is change the business model.

So CNN, ABC, the NYT, and CNBC are out.

Let's hear your trusted news sources on the economy.

What proof exists that prove what they state is factually and verifiably true? The fact that the vast majority of the legacy media took a political side makes them an unreliable source unworthy of trust.

@wifetrained:

   I couldn't have said it better. When one takes off their biased political hat and uses common sense, it all becomes more clear and enables us to make better decisions and changes.

So which news sources are you referring to as reliable?

@selsa84:

   I've already done my extensive research and comparisons... I won't do your research for you.

Re: Is it really "the economy'?

No, it's not the economy.  It's the search manipulation due to promoted listings.

Re: Is it really "the economy'?

You are, of course, entitled to your own opinion, as is everyone else, of course.

As I mentioned before, my view isn't global or even national.

All I know is that my real estate taxes are about to be increased by something like 28%.

Yes, gas just recently went down, although when I last bought about 3 weeks ago, I paid $3.66/gal.

My dog is overweight, so vet recommended that I give her less dog food and a tablespoon of green beans.  Canned green beans at my store are now $1.16/can as opposed to 75 cents a few months ago.

Yes, even McDonald's pays about $1.16/hr to start around here and are hurting for workers.

Just after the pandemic, there were folks who stated that, if restaurants paid more, they'd have no problem getting help.  So I guess we don't all know that paying your workers more means that you would need to charge more for the food.

Re: Is it really "the economy'?

I thinks is a few things, a dab of the items one is selling not being popular,  a dab of faulty search, ALOT of competition of listings thanks to all the YT vids and also ALOT of new sites that are taking buyers.

@selsa84:

    Of course news agencies are biased. But one has to find those that go beyond  pop-culture emotion and dig down to expose the causes of what we're all facing right now. It's simple cause and effect. When one exposes and we remove the cause, we don't have to deal with the effect. That's common sense.

   Do your research for the sources that don't merely stop at emotion or simply parrot what governments want us to believe.

"All four of the sources you quoted are bottom-line unreliable, and I stopped listening to their excuses that defy common sense."

"I heard on Fox Business recently..."

Oh, come on now.

Don't expect a real answer or a specific news source. The usual answer is scouring the internet, or consulting many sources, or something equally vague. Makes one wonder if some people are just too embarrassed to admit what they view as "credible."

Re: Is it really "the economy'?

I have notice my newer listings not showing up on Google.  I like checking out the online competition for items and feel I get some traffic from Google.  I put my title to listing in google search and it shows up.   The last listings for me that is showing up on Google I listed in August.  Starting with listings listed in September non of them are showing up on Google.  I know it takes a while for listings to show up on google but perhaps ebay made some changes and google is not liking them? Anyway if it takes more than 8 weeks to show up on Google if at all, it will be a real bummer for Christmas sales.  I'm thinking of cross posting to my Etsy store to get google listings and perhaps boost sales.
