Is it really "the economy'?

"The US ecomony grew at a blistering rate despite high interest rates" - CNN

"US GDP grew at a 4.9% annualized rate over three months ending in September" - ABC

"U.S. Economic Growth Accelerated in the Third Quarter" - New York Times

"Amazon reports better-than-expected results, as revenue jumps 13%" - CNBC

Well, so much for THAT being a reason why we're seeing slow sales 😕

Re: Is it really "the economy'?

I don't know what cave you people are living in, but in my area there's help wanted signs up everywhere and not enough workers to fill them. Wages are higher than they've ever been.  The Nucor Steel Mill where I work part time can't find workers to fill openings and they PAY 120 GRAND A YEAR!!

Spare me your politics.

I paid 2.79 for gas today. Grocery prices have fallen for over a year, and on Saturday we have to hit our favorite steakhouse at 3 in the afternoon because if we go later, the line is out the door!

But here's the real problem for the political trolls.

BUSINESSES HIRED 330,000 NEW EMPLOYEES LAST MONTH!!

Which is twice as much as was projected by the US Department of Labor.

So in 2 months

(August/September) over 560,000 EMPLOYEES WERE HIRED!!

Call me naive,  but I prefer to get my knowledge of where the economy is headed from the businesses of America.

Not some used clothing guy on eBay, that gets his from a channel that just paid out close to a billion dollars for LYING. LOL!

I guess it's just a me thing.

Happy Sales!

Re: Is it really "the economy'?

I think ebay is a bigger factor than you do, and thats fine, we're all opining here.  I say that because a lot of other online sites are growing or at least steady, while ebay is declining.  Also that more other sites do not have primary income strategies pitting sellers against each other and basically paying to fight each other for ranks/views.

Also while every site has their own issues and problems, I don't think any other current site is as unnecessarily adversarial and punitive as ebay is towards its sellers.

Re: Is it really "the economy'?

Well people havent dropped ebay, they just diversified across multiple sites.  Often they can sell certain things more easily elsewhere, as those items just sat on ebay doing nothing.  But others still sold.

I would think people in highly saturated ebay categories may find they can do better on other sites.

Re: Is it really "the economy'?

ebay is an epic failure. They were bound to fail with a stupid Big b for no reason. Anyway do a Google search for an item notice Google is not showing eBay listings like they used to. This is because eBay sucks eBay sucks big ass Google has to slap eBay around quite often because eBay thinks they are some kind of Internet powerhouse Google knows eBay is a joke.

Anyway eBay is a joke. But do a Google search you'll see other sites pop up but not eBay. This happens all the time whenever eBay **bleep** Google off. And eBay **bleep** everybody off because they're failures at everything they do and they bring other people down with them.

How about my theory?

Slow sales = Nobody wants to buy what you are selling.

Is that too far-fetched?

It's always everything else, it's never you.

So CNN, ABC, the NYT, and CNBC are out.

Let's hear your trusted news sources on the economy.

Yes Yes and Yes. The number are inflated because the cost of the goods is higher. It’s a lie.

A lot of people do not have the funds to buy their items.

Re: Is it really "the economy'?

These big corps are going to ride out this inflation as long as they can to scoop up the bucks. As long as Americans are told the economy is just peachy keen. Meanwhile some folks are going to get drowned in debt.

Re: Is it really "the economy'?

Feel free to quote any source you want regarding this topic.

All I know, as just one individual on a fixed income, my utility  charges have increased, my real estate taxes will go up by a significant amount, groceries cost more.  There was a time when I bought little silly things on eBay, but that time is long gone.  Now, the only purchases I make here are things I need and cannot find anywhere else.

Feel free to cite any reason you want, but the real basic truth is that a lot of us are hurting.

I'm not sure why that was directed to me or what it means?
