Does it bother anyone else but me when I purchase an item from someone, they don't leave feedback for me? I make it a point of leaving feedback either right after the buyer pays me, or I mail the item. It's sort of like when I purchase something from, say, Walmart. I always thank the cashier, or any other employee who assists me, and when I get a nod, or an "Uh huh", instead of a "Thank you" or a "You're welcome", it rubs me the wrong way.
Call me sensitive (some of you will *L*), but it's just a pet peeve of mine, being a gracious buyer AND seller.
Thoughts?

As I said, I expect nothing from someone who buys an item from me, though it's nice to receive the feedback. It's when I'm the buyer, and the seller doesn't leave feedback, that annoys me.
Op, while I disagree with your thoughts you have shown how gracious you are by comming back & responding to the answers you have received on this subject...many don't.
In addition you have made a certain poster a very happy camper by posting a NEW pheedback thread.
You have succesfully Released the Kraken!
Great point @*help_no_brakes*, so thanks @wolf*song for not abandoning your post as many do. We all agree and disagree but it's okay to vent about it, sorry for the *sleepy* faces.
Now Kraken on the other hand... *paddles for shore* ![]()

Yes, I also think it is good when an OP comes back and responds to answers received.
I did not find anything with which I could disagree. Most sellers that I have seen say the same as the OP. They are like I am about feedback. They like to see the good comments in the feedback saying what a wonderful seller they are, etc. I think comments like that help to cause some buyers to choose to buy from those sellers.
According to the statements made on discussion boards, it annoys many buyers when a seller does not care if the buyer wants feedback or not. A great many buyers prefer that a seller at least acts like he/she cares about whether the buyer is satisfied or not.
My advice to sellers about feedback is:
Do whatever satisfies most of your customers since it costs nothing to leave feedback and takes almost no time.
If it does not offend your customers when you leave feedback for them, then do that which helps OTHER SELLERS to get more feedback. We know that more buyers will leave feedback when more sellers leave feedback.

As a buyer in the old days - I relished receiving feedback - but that all changed as my feedback count grew and I realized that no matter what the feedback count - it meant nothing. I couldn't be restricted from buying because I didn't have enough feedback - I didn't get any little gifts from Ebay for being a faithful customer. I never even bother to see if I've received feedback as a buyer - most are bot responses anyway. Rarely does a seller's feedback left for me - show a personal and not a stored or automated comment.

Some sellers are just too busy crying that they don't have any sales.

Does feedback really matter ? I see Sellers that are Top Rated, but yet have 100's of negatives/neurals and 5/4.9 Star detail ratings. If I get one negative, I consider that I failed someone.

I send a "thank you" with the item purchased - it's also included on the shipping notification email.
I leave feedback and a third "thank you" when the buyer acknowledges safe arrival.

"Who, or what, is this Kraken?"
Are you not familiar with that famous line uttered by Sir Laurence Olivier..."Release the Kraken"..in that awful movie Clash of the Titans?
I use the term when I see a new pheedback thread.
Look for some posts with large bold font below my initial reply to you.
