Did you mean:

Is it just me...

Does it bother anyone else but me when I purchase an item from someone, they don't leave feedback for me?  I make it a point of leaving feedback either right after the buyer pays me, or I mail the item.  It's sort of like when I purchase something from, say, Walmart.  I always thank the cashier, or any other employee who assists me, and when I get a nod, or an "Uh huh", instead of a "Thank you" or a "You're welcome", it rubs me the wrong way.

Call me sensitive (some of you will *L*), but it's just a pet peeve of mine, being a gracious buyer AND seller.

Thoughts?

Op, while I disagree with your thoughts you have shown how gracious you are by comming back & responding to the answers you have received on this subject...many don't.

In addition you have made a certain poster a very happy camper by posting a NEW pheedback thread.

You have succesfully Released the Kraken!

Great point @*help_no_brakes*, so thanks @wolf*song for not abandoning your post as many do. We all agree and disagree but it's okay to vent about it, sorry for the *sleepy* faces.

Now Kraken on the other hand... *paddles for shore* Smiley Surprised

Yes, I also think it is good when an OP comes back and responds to answers received.

I did not find anything with which I could disagree.   Most sellers that I have seen say the same as the OP.  They are like I am about feedback.  They like to see the good comments in the feedback saying what a wonderful seller they are, etc.  I think comments like that help to cause some buyers to choose to buy from those sellers.

According to the statements made on discussion boards, it annoys many buyers when a seller does not care if the buyer wants feedback or not.  A great many buyers prefer that a seller at least acts like he/she cares about whether the buyer is satisfied or not.

My advice to sellers about feedback is:

Do whatever satisfies most of your customers since it costs nothing to leave feedback and takes almost no time.

If it does not offend your customers when you leave feedback for them, then do that which helps OTHER SELLERS  to get more feedback.  We know that more buyers will leave feedback when more sellers leave feedback.

Re: Is it just me...

As a buyer in the old days - I relished receiving feedback - but that all changed as my feedback count grew and I realized that no matter what the feedback count - it meant nothing. I couldn't be restricted from buying because I didn't have enough feedback - I didn't get any little gifts from Ebay for being a faithful customer. I never even bother to see if I've received feedback as a buyer - most are bot responses anyway. Rarely does a seller's feedback left for me - show a personal and not a stored or automated comment.

Uh, sorry I gave you the impression I was "obsessed" (have no idea where that came from), but I was simply saying it was annoyance that something as simple as a small courtesy seems to have become a rare thing, these days, where jumping to conclusions and seemingly rude remarks have grown in number.

I have, as well, even finding something positive in a less-than-positive item. I'm not Mary Poppins, but I try'n see the good.

"Ego-boos" is hysterical, but you're another one who's apparently reading more into my post than I intended. My apologies.

Re: Is it just me...

And my apologies for the short, smarta$$ed remark. (Apparently, I have to censor myself, to a degree, as I was ***bleep***ed for using the word "d@mn" in another thread. *L*)

Who, or what, is this Kraken? 🙂

Re: Is it just me...

Some sellers are just too busy crying that they don't have any sales.

Re: Is it just me...

Does feedback really matter ? I see Sellers that are Top Rated, but yet have 100's of negatives/neurals and 5/4.9 Star detail ratings. If I get one negative, I consider that I failed someone.

Re: Is it just me...

I send a "thank you" with the item purchased - it's also included on the shipping notification email.

I leave feedback and a third "thank you" when the buyer acknowledges safe arrival.

Re: Is it just me...

"Who, or what, is this Kraken?"

Are you not familiar with that famous line uttered by Sir Laurence Olivier..."Release the Kraken"..in that awful movie Clash of the Titans?

I use the term when I see a new pheedback thread.

Look for some posts with large bold font below my initial reply to you.

Re: Is it just me...

I know about that, too.

But I don't expect I'd have anything to say to a seller from whom I didn't make a purchase. 😉

Re: Is it just me...

Again, I'm not talking about getting feedback from someone who purchased an item from ME, but from sellers I purchased FROM.

Okay, now it's starting to confuse even me... *L*
