I am definitely not happy about new changes on eBay as far as the selling tools go. That is something that needs to be addressed. But if I was done with eBay, why would I waste anymore time with it? Just a thought as I continue to see posts like "I'm done withe eBay!" or "eBay is sinking! Get off the ship while you can!" Everyone has to go out guns blazing. There are other selling platforms out there. We utilize a few, and do what works best for us. If any of the platforms don't work for us (Posh for instance), we just move on.

I'm periodically reminded of one of my various corporate jobs which was training people on computers for general office application - it was back in the old days when analog was slowly giving over to digital, so I expected push-back from some of the older staffers, but I had one guy who wouldn't even go into the same room as the desktop he was assigned, and we had to introduce one piece at a time into his office (first the keyboard, then the mouse, etc. - I'm not joking) so he wouldn't freak out. Then he put a towel over it. He was otherwise a functional individual and unfortunately we needed a particular skill-set he had so we had to deal with it. The DRAMA! Don't be that guy.

Maybe those users think the corporate talking heads who are responsible for their ebay business failure are listening, even when most of the time "not listening" is the exact reason why they are leaving in the first place. I read through a lot of complaints to figure out why people are complaining, but I think most of the time it's just easier for disenfranchised users to simply turn to the community for comment, because it's free.
Good thought.

Is adding to the problem. My sales have been very good compared to 2020. Yes things have changed, some good some bad, but to say online sales are not profitable is not accurate
Ummmm I have no idea how you gleaned "online sales is not profitable" from what I wrote - I dont really even know how to respond to that other than to reiterate what I wrote - if you actually read it, it clearly says in so many words, ONLINE SALES VENUES ARE TAKING TOO MUCH OF MY PROFIT...

Clearly if the amount of sales you have in the last 90ish days is representative of your sales, it would not appear to be cost effective to leave Ebay.

Because jacking the prices up and down daily and daily insertions , are just too internet to leave?

Realize that some people will always bask in their own misery but one will never know until you try to make a change/difference - heck this person is a regular customer according to the poster coming back for more.- give it a shot or two I say. Have came in contact with various people that had issues tried to help and one day out of the blue they walked up to me on the streets or stores or restaurant and said thanks for helping/guiding.- not many greater feelings - makes up for those attempts that didn't work out so well. Recall the 1967 movie To Sir With Love (based on an autobiography) with Sidney Poritier.

Some people just want to have things changed to fit their individual situation - the its all about me crowd. Recall a theory on pleasing the masses and it basically stated in ones best effort from the President of the US, or the Pope on down you will only please 80% of the masses. That leaves at least 20% to complain about some thing and that's a lot. Soem even complain about "free" stuff. Ya' just will never please them all, all of the time.. And there is the crowd that wants to return back to the "good ole days" - that weren't always that good either.

OK @bashort, are you Elon Musk?

Yes, I know that is what you are saying... which means it isn't making enough profit for you. If eBay and other selling sites didn't exist we would be back to garage sales, auctions, flea markets, antique stores, thrift stores being our only option to sell and the profit margin would go down to nearly nothing. You cannot get the numbers of people looking at your product in a local brick and mortar situation

For those who think eBay may be listening to the voices on the forum, and believe it could bring about positive change, direct your attention to eBay policy regarding unsolicited suggestions.

Not sure about failure, but they treat sellers like scum. They are as bad, if not worse then the scammers that rip us off on a regular basis. And most, after ebay screws them over too many times, do move on. I think it's a matter of how many times you are willing to allow them to stick it to you.

Ebay is steadily and purposefully marching south unless you are a luxury goods seller that can use authentication. For the rest of us slobs the sales outweigh the stupid sellers have to put with....for now.
When that calculus becomes more stupid than sales I'll choose the next place to go as will many more.
Seems like a few years off yet but I have faith in ebay to do all the wrong things over and over.
My advice is start selling $5000 watches and designer handbags if you want ebay to give the slightest care what you think because just one of those sellers displaces probably 1000 or more full time re-sellers.

Yes, that's the first rule and I agree with you, but unfortunately with some people it doesn't work. Every business seems to have that.one.person. I feel sorry for people like this because they seem to actively NOT want to ever be satisfied, no matter how sincere the attempts. Then of course, there are the bullies (young women in the work force can tell you stories).
That was a good movie!
