I just discovered when I tried to relist an item with a St. Jude's Children's Hospital donation, the charity changes from St. Judes to "American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities"....thanks ebay.

This "issue" has been posted before.

"American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities" is the fundraising organization for St. Judes.

hm.....doesn't sound ANYTHING like St. Judes...thanks though...weird. I'd change that if I were them...or at least get the chosen charity to match in name to the relisted name that appears....

Younger folks are unaware that the charity was founded by Danny Thomas, a very well known entertainer decades ago and father of Marlo Thomas, who was of Lebanese decent.

Why would they change it? They've been extremely successful for many years. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Why would who change what? ALSAC has been the name since 1957 when Danny Thomas founded it.

Danny Thomas grew up in Toledo, Ohio and attended Woodward High School along with my mother, aunts and uncles.

When I was 10 years old and living in Toledo our elementary school had us older kids volunteer to collect money for ALSAC. On Halloween. The fund raiser was called Treat Or Treat For ALSAC. As I recall it was quite successful for its time and most kids participated.
