How big are they?

 

2-3 feet tall maybe milk containers.

 

Smaller?

Perfume,

Medicine,

Narcotics,

Herbs,

 

Salt and pepper,

This is a pair of circa 1800 French porcelain vanity antique apothecary jars used to hold toilet water and other scents.

    If good condition you can expect to get $80 and up.

I'm with adamcartwright, I think they are Apothecary jars.Depending on their actual age that could be real gold paint decorative work.
