I had an issue with a buyer of one of my laptops. I wanted to post negative feedback for him. I used the Feedback option on the selling screen to give the feedback. Even though my written comments were negative, the feedback shows up with a green + in his feedback list. Why is this? Is there a way to make that a red - instead? Can I change the green + to a ed - now?

Sellers have been unable to leave negative or neutral ratings for buyers since May 20, 2008. How fortunate you are to not have had occasion to notice this before today.

You are not allowed to leave negative words with a positive. The buyer can report you for this.

Sellers have not been able to leave negative feedback for over a decade.
1) Leaving negative remarks in a positive feedback is against eBay policies.
2) With your 'Reply' to the negative feedback... wow, just wow.... you are well on your way to getting your seller account closed.

Look at it this way. A buyers ONLY job is to buy and pay for your item. If those parameters were met they did their job and your on your out of luck.

That laptop is NOT in the excellent working condition you promised. You are the type of seller that gives the rest of us a bad name.

Wow. That feedback reply is a whopper! Very unprofessional.

You can't. PS Leaving negative reviews with a positive is against ebay policy and could jeopardize your ability to sell here. Be careful.

and... you don't EVER use WD40 on the underside of a keyboard so you can 'clean it'. WD40 is wet, it will travel and touch other keys on the circuit board that those keys talk to.
That's what 'canned air' is for.

It’s so sellers who fail to describe an item accurately can’t retaliate against the buyer.
Great reply to the feedback. It tells everyone what kind of seller you are.

Both your response to the neg and your feedback left for the seller are totally unprofessional and unacceptable. The clock is now ticking on your Ebay account for violating Ebay's rules. Prior, your feedback was fine and the single neg, well you should have just ignored it and moved on.

Yep, sure should have. He'll be in here in the near future asking us why his sales have tanked. What was he thinking? Been here for 23 years, too.

You are very lucky the buyer didn’t file a “Item Not As Described” case thru eBay. In which case eBay would debited your account for the purchase price, any postage at time of purchase and return shipping if you wanted laptop back. If you didn’t pay for shipping back the buyer would keep the laptop and you would be out the money.
There is no such thing as All Sales Final on eBay anymore with their MBG policy for buyers. Ebay will not enforce it under their MBG policy.

It looks to me that you are entirely in the wrong here. You don't want to stand behind your product. You insult and name-call the buyer, you try to leave them a negative (which hasn't been possible for years) and you left them a negative comment anyway which is against eBay rules.
If all this is reported to eBay they might just drop your entire account - which they often do.
