How to post negative feedback

I had an issue with a buyer of one of my laptops. I wanted to post negative feedback for him. I used the Feedback option on the selling screen to give the feedback. Even though my written comments were negative, the feedback shows up with a green + in his feedback list. Why is this? Is there a way to make that a red - instead? Can I change the green + to a ed - now?

In the subject line of your listing, you write: Runs great!

In the condition line of your listing, you write: Excellent working condition. 

In the description, you write: The laptop has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. This is a used laptop in excellent working condition.

 

You never mention in your listing that some of the keys stick and needs to be cleaned with WD-40 and the battery latch is broken and the battery won't stay locked in.

I wish your buyer had opened a SNAD case! He would have received a full refund (including original shipping) and you would have paid $22 to get it back! 

 

You might consider verifying that your current listing for a Lenovo G50-45 is indeed in “Excellent working condition" as you've listed or you might find yourself in the same situation.

It doesn't matter WHAT the buyer's email said. 

 

On ebay, if a buyer opens a "not as described" case, whether valid or not, the buyer will win it, either by your accepting the return and paying for shipping or by escalating the dispute after your refusal and have ebay resolve it. (In the latter, ebay often just issues the refund from your funds and doesn't require the return.)

 

Your feedback left for the buyer is a violation and if the buyer reports, it's removed and you get a feedback violation and your response to his feedback makes you look like a child. It's immature and unprofessional. 

 

Regarding WD40, I found this online:

As long as your objective is to destroy the motherboard, you can go ahead and use WD-40. However, if your objective is to clean the motherboard without damaging it, then using something which is conductive, acidic, and/or leaves a residue on the circuit board is the last thing you want to do.

Sellers have not been permitted to post anything but positive feedback for buyers since 2008.

Boy, are you rude! You came here looking for help and expecting empathy. (Many sellers do get it when they were wronged but in this case, you weren't wronged.)

 

When the error of your ways is pointed out, instead of fighting and attacking those who disagree, think about what was said. 

 

Your responses to those who disagree with you continue to show unprofessionalism and immaturity.

So, let's go back and answer your original question. No, you cannot change the feedback to negative as you cannot leave negative feedback for a buyer. Better?

It's also very good at dissolving adhesives, such as the residue left behind after peeling off windshield stickers and such. 

 

You could also say it's very bad for dissolving adhesives, too, if you don't want that to happen as an unintended side-effect of whatever it is you're using it for.

While searching how to leave a negative feedback for a buyer who didn't pay for the item I ran into this page. So now I know there is no option.

My question is why EBay doesn't post a negative feedback for non payment so other sellers are warned and don't have to wait for a week to be paid and end up having to cancel the transaction.

I make it a rule to never over embellish used items,  especially those that are mechanical in nature or have moving parts that can wear out or worse software and specs that can become obsolete overnight if not the night before.   You're bound to attract someone who doesn't know what they're getting into.  The keyboard I'm using right now is that old or older and some of the keys are quite bad,  bad to the point it sometimes appears I sound like I have my tongue stuck to a metal flag pole(S just doesn't like to work).  I could replace it though with something more robust but you can't do that with a notebook/laptop.  You were only trying to get 50 bucks for it.  So you should have described it as sold as is,  no guarantee of operation,  not new,  USED etc.  As others have said you should have bit your tongue before responding like that.  Chances are ebay won't suspend you but they may remove the feedback. I have a negative on my account for an item I sold which was used.  The guy bought it as a gift and may have even changed his address.  His daughter did not see the listing and only relayed back to him it did not work or was missing some parts which I clearly said may not be available.  He then took out his frustrations on me.  It hurt my account pretty bad and my sales dropped off fast.  Still I left a factual reply and did not get into personal attacks.  I am fully capable of getting into personal attacks and getting emotive.  Best to downplay an item rather than open the door to scrutiny.  You still can get a negative but if you avoided the embellishment you could have saved face and been more of a victim,  instead you double downed on being wrong.  Lot of bad buyers out there,  you don't want to lure them in.
