How to avoid the latent fines by the Ebay system

I want to learn how to avoid the latent fines by Ebay and Paypal. How to set up a temporary leave because of illness? How to avoid the 4% fines if you long time didn't get online?

How to fully understand the latent terms of hidden fees, if we can not find the rules on the website or through the help phone line?

Usually I got this knowledge through my experience. But some terms often update and change.

Many thanks.

Re: How to avoid the latent fines by the Ebay system

Thank you.

That is the only option? Other operations or functions available?

And if the bad feedback might be left by error, or I may be charged twice, which is the best way to connect the ebay manager?

Thank you. I'm only part time, only used eBay seller account several times, per year.

I don't have a store. I don't have monthly fees.

But how to set the account "on vacation"?

how to avoid being charged for twice?

If you don't have a store, then you won't have the vacation option. Just end all your listings until you come back. It really is as simple as that...

Ebay is given below standard fine , Ebay gets the 4% and the buyer can file negetive feedback   . me i dont think it fare to fine a seller 4% on every sale when it should only apply to the sell in question . let just say its another way for Ebay to pocket more of the sellers money ....

Back in the day they just banned you.  At least now they give you a chance to get out of the hole.

You can extend the handling time, but that will depend on how long you'll be gone. Also, what am I missing? I only see 3 listings, so I don't know what the problem would be with ending them...

The op doesn't have a store so they aren't able to use vacation settings.

Which link is the overview page?

Yes. Because I am in illness, I didn't make full use of the listings and records.

It is very difficult to make records...

If you don't have a store, you can't put it on vacation. You can just end your listings, though.

Op doesn't have a store, thus no vacation settings.

Re: How to avoid the latent fines by the Ebay system

1) Ship your items on time as promised to the customer. If you are sick, in hospital, on vacation, end the listings and then relist them when you are able to function. If you do not have a store, I do not think there is a vacation setting. Retrieving the listings you ended, not sure have not been without a store for awhile. Call a CS rep if you do not get an answer for that here.

2) Honor your returns from the buyer, to avoid getting defects for cases not resolved properly.

3) Make sure your inventory is kept up to date and check and be certain that whatever you are selling is available to avoid out of stock penalty defects.

4) Check you Pay Pal account frequently to see if a buyer has started a case there first instead of starting the case with Ebay. Sellers sometimes do not do this and are surprised by a case that was closed in the buyers favor and it happened because the case timed out before you are able to repond to it.

5)Avoid 4% increases in Ebay fees by using good pictures and good descriptions of your item and do not sell things that are broken, have flaws unless you tell the buyer that in your description. This helps stop Significantly not Described returns.

That is not because of shipping late. But the fines and charges are sometimes out of control. And no explanation is atached to the charges.

I also called to the customer service, but they also can not calculate that correctly.

What is the best way to connect with ebay CS? Do we have direct message?

Easiest way to not get in trouble is offer no product when you're unable to ship on time.

There are three ways to get in touch with eBay Customer Service. 1) Call them. 2) Go to their Facebook page and post your concern. Or 3) go to eBay’s Twitter account and connect there.

Since you do not have a store, there are two options to protect your account while you are away. First is to end each of your listings. Or the second choice, which is to keep your listings up and extend your handling time far enough in the future to cover the time you will be gone.

If you are taking an extended leave, it is preferable to end your listings. Ebay will keep these ended listings in your My Ebay Selling page for a while (30-60 days? ). When you are recovered, you can relist.

Even if you are unable to relist from a saved listing because it is no longer available on eBay, there are only three up that i can see. You wouldn't have much trouble recreating such a small number of listings from scratch so i wouldnt worry about it. Your health is of paramount importance,  and should take precedence over eBay matters.

I hope you will get well soon.
