How can I determine or know if a buyer is a drop shipper?

Are there any hints on the user profile? Thanks.

Re: How can I determine or know if a buyer is a drop shipper?

A buyer can purchase an item and have the seller dropship it to the buyer’s customer. I don’t think you can tell whether that’s what the buyer is doing.

You mean if a Seller is a drop-shipper?  Buyers buy, they do not usually drop-ship.

Stock photos, items shipped from China, Indonesia, etc.  Cheap, mass-produced, often fake copy-cats.   Shipping times very long, etc.

The FB left by Buyers is usually very revealing/strong indicator.

You can't.

But why does it matter?

After they buy your item, what does it mater what they do with it?

Are we pulling an all-nighter?

And I don't mind drop shippers at all anymore.  Not in these times where umpty jillion boats are unable to unload their stuff.  There has got to be food rotting on those ships.

Seems like the OP might have meant to ask how he can tell if a SELLER is a drop shipper.

Do you mean how to tell if a buyer is using a freight forwarder?

Re: How can I determine or know if a buyer is a drop shipper?

Dropshippers are usually easy to spot, they will have thousands of listings with stock photos and lots of bad feedback about out of stock and the item came from somewhere else,

Look for free shipping, nothing but stock photos, poor feedback and the most offensive behavior of all - the American Flag used as a straw shipping decoy.

Buyers don't drop-ship.  Some sellers drop-ship.

Re: How can I determine or know if a buyer is a drop shipper?

If you are asking how to identify if a buyer is actually using you as a drop-shipper to fulfill the buyer's own sales orders sold using another account (or even on another site), there is no surefire way to determine that, since there does not need to be any connection between a buying and a selling account, though there may be indications that you can spot if you are observant.

If a buyer asks you not to include any packing slip or identifying information in your package, that might be an indication of a drop-shipping operation. Or it might just be that the buyer is having a gift sent to someone.

If the same buyer buys multiple items and has them shipped to different addresses, that is a good indication that you are being used as a drop shipper.

Re: How can I determine or know if a buyer is a drop shipper?

I stumbled upon a drop shipper a couple of days ago.  I was looking for a specific item, his listing showed up near the top of the search results.  He has a high number of feedbacks but his score was 97.8% positive.  I clicked on the link to see his other items.  In his store info he stated "AUTHORIZED RESELLER (in all caps) for many top brands" at the beginning of the paragraph.  The majority of his photos (but not all) were stock from manufacturer or wholesale suppliers.

I did not purchase from him.

Re: How can I determine or know if a buyer is a drop shipper?

If you are talking about a buyer that purchases in bulk to resell, you can tell by the number of items they are purchasing, having to write the item number on the package and including a packing slip. They will request it.

The easiest way to see if a seller is, is by their location and the item location. Contrary to what the comments above say, there ARE good dropship sellers on here. Look at their feedback first and their responses. That will tell you if they are reliable or not.
