I can't believe all the ranting about the new messaging system.
I get it. You don't like it.
Just like every other change you didn't like on ebay, you'll get used to it.
You may even learn to like it.
People have complained about every single change on ebay for the past 20+ years.
If ebay listened to all the complainers, we would still be operating like we were in the 90s.
Have great holiday weekend everyone!

You're right.
Sorry.
I will try to cut down on complaining about people complaining about the new messaging system.
That would be a good idea - yes. The OP looked like maybe an attempt at joking except that there are genuine problems with the new software that are causing genuine problems for sellers trying to communicate with buyers and vice versa.
What problems?
Confusing interface - no ability to Reply With Offer - no ability to edit or delete folders... They did finally fix the inability to CC your own email. In general they were replacing a working interface with one that was incomplete and buggy. No announcements - no explanation - no sign that the new version was even written by people who used the platform. 'Complaining about complainers' is silly anyway since this is a forum intended to help other users.
Just to pick on ONE of your 'problems', the first one OFFERS:
That is simply NOT the case as the attached proves.... which makes most of your other 'issues', also not true.
For instance, regarding 'not being able to edit or delete folders' - why does that even matter? I never made folders before and I've sold since the 90s'. No reason to. Get a message, answer a message and move on. NO reason in the world to 'make folders'.
Next- what's with the 'confusing interface'; there is NOTHING confusing about the messages or how they are shown. They are actually MUCH clearer than before.
I just don't get the issues you are stating

You can reply with offer, I sent a screenshot of a message I received for an active item where I was able to send an offer.

I stand corrected on that - but I had to walk down through maybe a dozen incoming messages in my selling account before I found ONE message that had the Send Offer button present. The others did not. I cannot see what logic determines whether it will be offered but I was all the way back into messages from late October before I found a message from a prospective customer where I could send an offer using that button you showed in your screenshot.

How does that correction have anything to do with the other issues?

How you yourself use message folders is irrelevant. The ability to add - modify - delete folder names has been around for decades. The fact that it cannot be done here speaks to a programming oversight. (In the first iteration of this release you could not even create a folder - and standard folders such as Sent Messages were missing completely.)

There are enough complaints from others in this forum to indicate that plenty of people do find the interface confusing. The fact that you or I can understand the interface does not negate their complaints.

I can only go so far to help you with your understanding. I know there are plenty of people who simply shriek that they hate every new revision that comes along. But when the new revision is demonstrably worse than what it replaced then that is a problem.
Ebay is not going to roll back to the old software. I am not going to pretend that that is even an option. The best we can hope for is that they will get their act together and fix what needs fixing in the new release.

It depends on whether the buyer has enabled the ability to receive offers from sellers and if so, whether or not you have sent that particular buyer an offer before. If you've already sent an offer to that buyer at any point in the past, you aren't able to send another one (which I personally think is stupid as both a buyer and a seller).

I don't get the complaints.
Personally I find it much better and cleaner.
It's also more standard messaging to how other marketplaces have communication set up.
Many companies are moving from the traditional methods to ones similar.
I guess someone who isn't familiar with a smartphone might see it as a bit foreign.

Agree PMA (positive mental attitude) is always better than PMS (pretty mean secretary).
This '44 model is glad things have changed. Yeah you have to adjust but change is fun - heck never played on a PC or a laptop until I was 50 - had two choices - sink or swim as our secretary was promoted to the assistant VP of Sales & Marketing. Had to learn the Microsoft Office real quick and you could lock up those IBM Think pad that were about $3900 a piece. Had one 2 hr training session after work (no OT pay) on Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook to start with then it was DIY time. Just got 'er dun. _ _ _ ing & Moaning gets nothing done.
BTW: Practice does not make perfect but Perfect Practice does.

Too much turkey and sugary stuff makes one want to sleep on the couch in the middle of the Lions vs ? and Cowboys vs ? Thanksgiving Day games. If ya' also have a Maltese beverage or more ya' might just miss both games and pass gas.

That's life. You either complain or roll over.
Never been one to just roll over. Not complaining when justified leads to the management, any management, thinking they are right and everything they have done is right.
As for ebay's messaging changes, most complaints comes down to - why the change and why now? Questions that will never get answered so just add to some users frustration.

Hmmm... back before "Economic Opportunity for All." 🙃
But seriously... I only now had occasion to try the new messaging system and I think its terrific... brings eBay almost up to industry standards... I can create folders, which is kind of nice, was never able to save correspondence before in any organized fashion. And searching messages? That's something I would not have expected from eBay quite frankly. Reminds me a little of Gmail on my phone.
I've read through the thread and seen others posts with complaints. I suspect that in time eBay will program in the ability to delete / rename folders and add other minor enhancements.
Of course, an updated message interface is not remotely a substitute for addressing the really serious systemic problems here. But it's a tiny step in the right direction, it seems to me -- at least for those of us who are not apoplectically enraged at eBay as a matter of principle.
