I can't believe all the ranting about the new messaging system.
I get it. You don't like it.
Just like every other change you didn't like on ebay, you'll get used to it.
You may even learn to like it.
People have complained about every single change on ebay for the past 20+ years.
If ebay listened to all the complainers, we would still be operating like we were in the 90s.
Have great holiday weekend everyone!

Couldn't agree more. I hate change, but this one, right from the get go, is MUCH better; showing all back/forth messaging to a particular person; so when they ask another question you can easily see what they asked the first time, your response etc.
Wonderful change.

Oh, that Geo Cities-esque format...I still had my youth, the world before me untrammeled...

Personally not a big fan of the new format or functionality and I believe it may be impacting sales as not only do sellers have to adjust but so do the buyers especially when it comes to sending and receiving offers. It's not so much the change that I mind, I will adjust, but it's the timing of the delivery. This could have been done in the second quarter as opposed to the 4th.

If it is not the messaging, it is something else. I get it that some are frustrated and need a place to vent but maybe some should try being a little more positive?
It would be great to extend this to the political conversation as well. It's time for the complaining/whining to stop and for everyone to start acting like adults.

One of the posts I read on this topic said "it's going to cost me money".
That's just crazy talk.

I came back to eBay a couple of days ago and found out about the new messaging system when I went to reply to a bunch of customers. I actually don't mind it. I didn't like their old "new way" because everytime I pressed enter it would send a message (and my buyers would send me 5-10 messages by pressing enter between each phrase).
At least I can hit enter without sending it right away, and that's kind of the only thing that bothered me about this change.

Sounds like my mother. Every time I presented a solution to solve her problem it was "I don't want to pay money, I don't want it to cost anything or I don't want to pay fees". Life costs money. Our FVFs pay the programmers who make changes to the site.

It's not a matter of liking it; it's a matter of getting the stupid thing to work properly for Production use, which initially it did not.
It was buggy (e.g. title->text pointer would get lost when switching between messages and folders) and incomplete (e.g. no Sent folder; no way to CC: messages to your own email), dumped into use without any notice or explanation, and relied entirely on user feedback for testing; it did not show any sign of even the most rudimentary release testing before putting it out into the world.
For example, create a folder (something that the initial release didn't even offer), and then try to rename or delete it. If you can figure out how to do that, please let me know.

Yep our family accepted the changes we made to the Thanksgiving meal years ago. We prefer grilled filet mignon and lobster, baby red potatoes, asparagus, and yep hold on pumpkin pie with whip cream or pecan pie with vanilla bean ice cream! Everyone actually likes it now. No one complains about missing turkey and ham. So it is possible to accept change.

That wouldn't be bad.

I'm feeling so left out. I know that messages has changed but
I don't have/get messages, so I don't know what the new system looks like.
DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT !!

Same thing here. NO turkey. The last 2 years we had lasagna or beef stew. Something different each year.
