Has anyone at all had a Bump in Sales or Happy since the Implementation of GTC?

Just a quick question for everyone out there.   Has anyone had an increase of Sales since the Implementation of GTC?   If you have seen a decrease please mention it here.

Cheers everyone!

Since GTC I have not had a single sale. I have lower priced items, mostly books, but always sold a few a week Nothing since GTC!!!!!I believe GTC is causing a glut in items for sale, and it is taking many more pages for potential buyers to see your items. I have great language learner books, which always sell well, at great prices. But, nothing since GTC. I tried cancelling everything by hand and it took me forever to relist. What a mess!! I called ebay and they said they had no power over their engineers. I told them there has to be a human being making these changes since ebay does not live in heaven. No argument, told them to pass on the message! If you have always GTC you may be used to it, but not us who are used to a quick list with quick turnover. Not good at all!!!!!!!!!!

No bumps, but no drops either.  My sales are pretty much exactly the same as they were before GTC.

Since GTC my sales have been down; I am
selectively ending
items before I get hit with an automatic relisting. EBay doesn't care but I think their Income is going drop if what I read here from sellers is happening to majority of us.

I can relate to the withdraws.  I check in at least twice a day to ship items or adjust listings.  What I don't miss is shopping on epay.  I have decided to shop brick & mortar and Amazon from now on.  That's about 20K per year I will divert away from ebay in addition to downsizing my store in a couple months.

I feel your pain! It’s been murder for me most of the time without cause? However, something very strange come up this past week. I have friends and family that on occasion shop for my listings with the title. Of recent, they find it, then when they click on it they are taken to another seller with a higher price. I’m not certain what to think about it, but maybe that’s why? I then started surfing the net to see if others state so. I did find where buyers are complaining that when they see a great price, but when they click on it the price is much higher. Perhaps (?) some listings are overriding our listings. My thoughts are they do not notice the seller’s name to realize the seller didn’t raise their price, but rather they were rerouted to another seller?

Re: Has anyone at all had a Bump in Sales or Happy since the Implementation of GTC?

Hi there...hmm...well, I couldn't get it to do that, when I would search for my OWN items through other screen names/accounts, although it DOES usually have a bunch of other sellers' items that prospective buyers have to look at, before they can even scroll down to MY actual description and pictures. This HAS always been a bit bothersome, for myself and probably for lots of other sellers, that prospective buyers are shown two entire ROWS of other stuff to look at, or to compare my item to...'Similar Sponsored Items', and 'Related Sponsored Items', whether these other 'similar' and 'related' items actually ARE similar to mine, or not! I guess that's what some sellers get in return for paying the extra expense to have their listings put into the 'sponsored listings', is that they get to have their items inserted directly into and within MY own listings, which is intrusive and not at all appreciated, to have buyers shown dozens of other people's stuff, within my own ads. I'm guessing that other sellers like myself, would agree..?

After almost nine years on ebay I have come to expect lower sales over holiday weekends and in early April during the final two weeks before TAX DAY, April 15th.  Not to mention April 10th when property taxes were due.  This is one of the most stressful months for people who work and pay taxes.  They might normally spend time shopping on ebay but I would expect that millions of people right now are not shopping.

My sales are off a little but are steady.  I believe my first set of GTC items are about ten days from relist so I am watching them to decide what I will start doing with each item.  My initial thought was to bundle items so that I can downsize my store in July.  While I ranted in the first week of GTC I have decided to see how things turn out.  I do have a day job so ebay is more of a long-term hobby biz for me than a primary source of income.

Another factor might be the lower  IRS tax refunds this year that many people got when they were expecting a larger refund.

Re: Has anyone at all had a Bump in Sales or Happy since the Implementation of GTC?

Hi gang...I finally decided to close my eBay Store TODAY, April 30th, but before I did, I decided to call eBay "one last time", to see if there was ANY indication from the higher-ups that they were going to get rid of the GTC Fiasco, and let things go back to the way there were, and OF COURSE I was given the same old spiel that they're "taking notes", and "will pass them along", blah, blah, blah.. same old story. As you can imagine, the eBay rep was very careful not to say anything which might even imply that things would ever change for the good, and although she seemed to feign a little bit of sympathy towards sellers' plights with never-ending listings, and items never selling, she nevertheless invited me to end my Store, so;...I did! ..Even in spite of them immediately assessing me an 'Early Termination Penalty', for doing so. **bleep** eBay, squeezing me for every last nickel they can, and I hope it's the LAST nickel, too!  Smiley Mad

Re: Has anyone at all had a Bump in Sales or Happy since the Implementation of GTC?

Update

Okay, I do have to say my sales are up 130%  now, but it is around Mother's Day and I sell authentic, bought direct, quality bags. With most people selling fakes though, I don't make much on them because, people are going for the lowest price and are not knowledgeable. I also started selling small accessories and that has helped but I am practically giving items away.

I still believe that eBay should NOT be able to implement Good Till Canceled (GTC). I now worry about how much I am posting. I can't keep getting hit on shipping, fees....

I will have to see how sales are next month to have something to compare this months sales. Also, most everyone watching isn't buying. My sales have mostly been on items that had know-one watching.

Just another case of ebay catering to the big full time sellers and trying to push us all into stores with unlimited listings. **bleep** stats saying most sellers use good till cancelled. Do your survey over with one (1) vote per seller. The stats will be the opposite as most small sellers are managing their listing so they don't incur fees.

Re: Has anyone at all had a Bump in Sales or Happy since the Implementation of GTC?

Sales are way down this month. E-bay has offered us more work for less money. I am working more on other sites and what I do here is just so I can down grade my store and move on.  So I lose and e-bay loses

Massive decrease in sales, from £400 a week to £122!!! I'm struggling to feed my family and pay bills. This is my full-time job.
