Has anyone at all had a Bump in Sales or Happy since the Implementation of GTC?

Just a quick question for everyone out there.   Has anyone had an increase of Sales since the Implementation of GTC?   If you have seen a decrease please mention it here.

Cheers everyone!

No, No, NOOOOO!!!! I Have NOT had an increase in sales!! IN FACT, I have not had a SINGLE SALE since March 17th, the day before this Good-Til-Cancelled fiasco started!! Before this started, I would sell maybe two or three items per week (vintage watches), and occasionally I'd have two or more sales in a single day! But, now, I haven't sold an item in SEVENTEEN DAYS, and I am BEYOND worried about what's happening...not just to me, but to everyone!! eBay, please, PLEASE rescind this GTC mess, and quit trying to micro-manage everyone's sales, and please let me go back to my usual 3-day listings, as I had always done in the past!!

My sales are down 44 % since GTC started. I am going to call Ebay now and let them know for the record.

It would not hurt for others to call.

I hate it because I am now going to have to make sure my items don't go over 30 days and I end up paying an insertion fee when I really wanted it to run for only 30 days or fewer. I have to maneuver already to keep from paying insertion fees. I am real small seller and every fee hurts. Especially when already paying for a store just so my items can be seen. I sent them this comment today. "The Good Til Cancelled blanket time frame is detrimental to those of us who depend on the 250 free Fixed Price listings each month. We will have to stay vigilant and make sure our listings don't become 30 days old and an insertion fee is charged when relisted. Small sellers like myself are paying all we can and it still be feasible to sell on Ebay. The reason I opened the store was to have the free insertion fees and more exposure. Every thing Ebay has implemented in the last year has resulted in hurting the small seller. The one day processing, the 30 day free returns, free returns for any reason. Not to mention having to add tracking to items that could be mailed for the price of a stamp. I know I have an option to not participate in these programs but in order to stay a Top Rated Seller, get discounts on my fees, and get heightened exposure I must do so. This Good Til Cancelled Policy may benefit some big sellers with many items to deal with but those of us with fewer than 300 listings at a time it is not. We need the option for our items to end so that we can list them when it will not cost us an insertion fee.
I know you do not want our suggestions but I am sending this anyway"

My sales have declined also I guess people just think they can wait around to purchase when there is no end date.

I did call and was told I was just being negative and that everyone else loved the GTC. I finally hung up on the person that kept telling me what a great opportunity it was to get to sell on Ebay who is so transparent and concerned about sellers. After all I was making money. She didn't get the concept of profit vs expenses.

When I do look for items, and see there is no end date - I wonder just how long it's been listed and why it is still there!?! Then I hit the back button.

I totally agree with you njones1952 about people not waiting around when there is no end date.

I have no problem with it. I am up 53%.

I work with 1000 fix priced listings a month. After I sell an item, I quickly add another to replace it.

I've seen neither good nor bad so far. I've been a seller on ebay since November 2000

March 2019 was the best month I've ever had. April is starting about normal. Really just so-so

All my 700 listings (On 2 accounts) were 10 day buy it now. They began ending on the 18th and of course were all relisted as 30 day GTC from that point on. I do not run auctions.

By the 28th all my original listings and any new listings were 30 day GTC

Sunday March 31st was a very good day for both accounts. about 50% above my daily goal and everything was 30 day GTC. Monday the 1st was terrible. Really terrible,

The 2nd was near my goal, so OK

Your mileage may vary.

Most of what I am selling is at Auction! Some is 30-day items that are expiring and get that ENDING SOONEST boost! Haven't sold hardly anything that is GTC which I NEVER USED BEFORE! But I run about 400-500 listings so can only do each one at Auction for 7-10 days one time per month with a Premium Store! The majority of the 1000 listing for GTC are WORTHLESS to me now!

I truly expect my sales to drop even further...and almost GAG every time I read the new eBay mantra of "You can only list at GTC to help you improve your sales...or some such garbage! NOT GONNA HAPPEN! UNFAIR eBay! You are KILLING small sellers...but of course, I now believe that is their INTENTION!

Unfortunately it won't help to talk to the CS reps! They have canned replies ready! Perhaps someone should start a letter writing campaign to the Board of Directors! But then they are probably all on-board to the "CHINA is the future thing"! It might be good for China but it does NOTHING for USA small sellers who helped them get this business off the ground back in the mid to late 1990's!

My accounts have always used GTC ... where other sellers constantly complain about decreased sales, we have experienced increased sales over the last two years.

(I agree that sellers should be able to choose or not choose GTC ... and there are some negatives that I can see for some sellers ... but assuming the imposition of GTC causes a sales downturn is allowing fear to cloud other more reasonable explanations).

Yes. Our sales are brisk.

We're probably considered medium sized sellers.

But is it because of GTC? We've always used it. And these brisk sales are only partly making up for slow holiday season sales.

If it is because of GTC, I suspect it's a temporary bump that will end when the first 30 days of the policy pass by.

So far my sales are running as you usually do -- the average, but because I am having to work the listings more -- i.e. before Fixed Price listings end, I have been deciding whether to let them relist or move them to 10 day auctions and tweek the price.  That way if they don't sell at auction I can hold them in Unsold until I want to put them out there again or yard sale them.

Instead of piling on all my listings 30 at a time that are ready to go, I have been adding just a few each day so that I will always have something NEW and something ENDING.  I only started doing this around the 17th of march so I don't know.  This way when the 30 days is coming up, I can decide if I want them to auto relist, or move them to Auction and then to Unsold.

This is FORCING me to work at it more -- there is no doubt -- but it is also forcing me to tweek things more, change price, change picture, change title, etc.  This should result in better sales. I ADMIT to previously having 150 to 200 things constantly cycling at 7 day intervals in Fixed Price and then just hitting a ton of relists when alot of them end on the same day and they get stale.  By listing 3 a day for 30 days instead of 90 all at once, I only have to make these decisions 3 or 4 at a time each day.

BUT I CAN UNDERSTAND that if you are a seller who constantly has 1000 listing out there, it is going to take an awful lot of work to tweek and consider each one -- If you don't you will end up paying extra fees.  But for me with a maximum of 250 free Fixed and 250 free Auction and usually having under 200 listed at any given time, i think I can juggle this -- and MAYBE change will be good at least for me.

And I just want to add that I never used AUCTION but since I have been forced to move some items to auction that were Fixed price and ending, I AM ACTUALLY getting Watchers on my Auction items !

BUT AGAIN on the FIXED ones that have been on for over 2 weeks I have a HUGE amount of watchers but not buyers -- like 14 watchers on one top that is only $19.99 ???  They just sit on it.
