Please help...I've sold my 2nd item on EBay...the tracking number that was provided by USPS after I printed the EBay level. Tracked couple days after item was picked up at my home, the tracking info showed it had arrived at the post office in the city where she lived but item was "intercepted by the seller" I contacted customer service via their call back service. EBay rep told me to disregard what it said on the tracking updates. He then assured me the item had been delivered. Seller has now messaged me it was not delivered. I've been trying to reach customer service SOMEHOW via live chat, call back, send them an email...all to no avail. Don't want to refund cause EBay rep assured me it had been delivered. Can anyone help me

If you're tracking info is correct, tell the buyer to open a INR case and then enter the tracking number. You should be good. One suggestion, start accepting returns especially for used or pre owned items. You're protecting yourself that way from scam attempts and SNADS. Cute shoes!
Good luck to you.

Can you screen shot the tracking from the official USPS site?
If it shows 'Delivered' there they can open an INR and you can reupload the tracking number to the INR case and eBay will close it in your favor.
HOWEVER, if the tracking doesn't show 'Delivered' you will most likely have to refund.

I'm a little confused by what you wrote. Are you the buyer or the seller?? You say the "seller" is messaging you, what are they saying?
USPS should only be allowing the Seller / Shipper to intercept a package. You need to contact USPS and find out who ordered/requested the interception, when did that do that and where is the package now. USPS is the one's with that information.

Also check the tracking number directly on usps.com as sometimes that has more info than what is shown on eBay.

I'm not sure why the Ebay rep is telling you it is delivered if it doesn't say that on the tracking.
Has the buyer opened a claim on this transaction?
Don't refund yet. Let's see if we can figure out what is going on here.

It could be a bad scan code by the USPS which in turn really sucks. 😞

I would strongly disagree with this advice. I think it is important to contact USPS and find out what is going on there first. Who requested the interception and where is the package now. I would not have the buyer open a claim yet.
IDK where the "scam" is coming in at. It seems to me first step is to find out what actually is happening with USPS.
If the buyer is in contact with the seller because there is an issue now is the time to ask for a little understanding and a little time to try and find out what happened.

Well maybe, but I deal with USPS a great deal with all the packages I ship per week. The vast majority of packages get delivered without issue. What the OP describes is a bit odd and it is USPS that needs to answer the questions.

I've had a few bad last final scans out of 100s of movies I sent via Media Mail/First class that never showed "Delivered".
Luckily all my customers were really honest and gave positive feedback saying they got it and were happy so I think that prevents any issue with it never actually showing "Delivered".
But a dishonest person where the USPS makes a mistake on the last scan can easily win an INR case and claim they never got it.
But I'd really like to see the tracking history from the official USPS website as I never go by eBay's tracking history.

As i stated, this is only the 2nd thing I've sold on EBay, so I wasn't sure who to contact first. I will contact the post office tomorrow, as theyre closed now. Thank you

Sorry that happened to you. But not the same situation the OP finds themselves in. USPS is NOT telling them the item is delivered, it is Ebay that is telling them that. The USPS tracking shows the package was intercepted.

Thank you for the info. My first thought was to accept returns as well, but since I knew so little, I just went with EBay's defaults. Thank you for your helpful reply!

Good plan. I ship via USPS exclusively and always receive crackerjack service. The 'intercept' is weird, though... especially if you (the seller) did not initiate it. I'd make a trip to the PO, too. Good luck. And check back in... 🙌
