I see this all the time, a seller is having a problem and they are advised to go to a certain Facebook page and ask for help. The ebay CSR'S there are very helpfull.
What I would like to know is why it is that they are so helpful on face-book and not here on the actual ebay seller forums?

Well, maybe it's because over there on FB the ebay employees don't get mixed up with the riffraff of the out-sourced/off-shore CS that handle the problems here on ebay, who can't really accomplish anything?

Good question. You'd think they'd help here. I don't think most ebay sellers know about the FB page.

This is just a user to user forum. Ebay employees rarely engage with anyone here.
It would be neat if they did.

No idea "why" it works, can only attest to the fact that it "does" work.

The seller forums -- if you mean here-- are inhabited by members like yourself.
Many of us not only have decades of knowledge, but also opinions.
Which employees cannot have.
At best the busybodies posters here will offer Tough Love.
And if you get nasty, they will get tougher.
The phone clerks are underpaid, undertrained subcontractors in Utah or the Philippines who are working from a script to a quota.
They want to get you off the phone. Nothing nefarious, they are human beings and the manager is watching (and listening).
The Chat, FaceBook and Twitter personnel are actual eBay employees as far as anyone can tell. They are much better trained and actually have a little authority.
Possibly more useful, those discussions are given to you as a transcript.
If you read the transcript, you can learn what you actually were told, and not what you thought you heard.
We all want things to work for us, and we all hate to hear that we messed up and the mess is our responsibility.
The phone clerks can't tell you that.
The Chat/FB/Twits can, very politely, give you advice about how to correct it, or how to avoid doing it again.

This is an ancient thread.
That said, you can go to "Help & Contact" on any eBay page and chat or request a call (if available) by going through the prompts there, or go to eBay on Facebook or AskeBay on Twitter (at least, I think some other platforms have pages too) and contact them there. Either way you'll be speaking to eBay employees/contractors, not employees of those social media platforms.
