Getting Killed with Insertion fees

Anyone else getting killed with insertion fees, I have a store & I am getting killed with these fees over the past few months, Never happened like this before, .10 per insertion but apply that to over 2,000 listings you can do the math, Why should I keep listing?

Read what I wrote earlier - He doesn't have Premium or he would be paying 59.99. ... Premium is not 21.95 which is what he said he is paying.

No, a different poster said that they were paying $21.95.  The OP has clearly stated that he has a Premium subscription.  Further proof is: those extra insertions are costing him 10 cents each, which is the Premium store price.  If he had a Basic store and used up his free insertions, the extra ones would be costing 25 cents each.

They don't need a bigger store.  Actually they would likely be fine with a smaller store.  However they need to first figure out why they are getting charged for some insertion fees.

In post 33 I already mentioned why I think he is getting hit with insertion fees. Ending and relisting to keep your listings fresh is probably why they are going through so many insertion fees. If that is the case, then upgrading to a premium store would save them money as opposed to paying insertion fees.

But in reality, they would need to determine if ending and relisting so often is even getting them any more sales over if they relisted less frequently.

Quantity of items listed is not necessarily the amount of listings used every month.  A store with 1K listings up with a 10K listing allotment, is not enough listings if you end and relist every other day. You will need at least 15K listings a month or you'll be paying for 5K insertions.

I understood the from your other post.  However the OP has not said that they do this, so we still have no idea what is going on with the OP.  I'm not willing to assume that this is their issue.  It is a possibility, but we simply don't know.

Just so you know - When you list something, your listing for 30 days. It automatically relist every 30 days and the relist counts as a listing. So your refreshing would not fix your issue. If you have 2000 listings then you have 2000 every month if left in the Buy it Now. Thats why your paying .10 for a listing. You are over your 1000 limit. So like you said if you continue to list more, you will pay more. The only way to reduce is to just list a 1000 at a time. Total of 1000 because they automatically relist. Thats why you see end dates. You don't just get 1000 a month every month and add them to last month's total. You seriously need to upgrade or like you said you are going to kill yourself listing more. 1000 at .10 each is a 100.00. plus your 21.95. Your paying twice as much as me. And your not getting the 50.00 free shipping supply's coupon, I'd think. I was always taught by my mentors that to make money you have to spend money. You should have upgraded months ago. Don't let the 59.99 price scare you.

@thelongball

Many of the OP's listings fall in the categories where they get additional free listings.  So they should be just fine as things roll over and relist.

The OP has  Premium Store at $59.95 for a yearly subscription or $74.95 if they pay monthly.  So the OP has 10,000 listings with no insertion fee and an additional 50,000 listings in certain categories with no listing fee.

But they have 10,000 free listings per month in any category?  Even if they had every single listing with a second category, they should have enough free listings to cover them.  And that is not even using the additional free listings of 50,000 in select categories, in which they do have some listings in.

Re: Getting Killed with Insertion fees

If @meme6253 would come back to the thread he started and answer the questions of what actual store size they are paying for and how much ending and selling similar they were doing, we could see pretty quickly what the issue probably is. They have now ghosted the thread, so likely someone has hit the nail on the head.

If anyone else was paying an additional few hundred in listing fees, I'm pretty sure they would want to get to the bottom of it. For what they are paying, they about could have an enterprise store. If all of this is because they are listing in two categories, then they should have paid more attention when listing. It would make more sense to switch categories after a month of not selling, then it does to pay for an additional category, IF that is what is happening.

@meme6253

I hope you will come back and answer some of the questions posted here.  It would enable us to help you better with a bit more information.

Something that may help to is if you posted your Seller Hub section called Promotional Offers.  This box shows all the details of the listings you have posted.

Re: Getting Killed with Insertion fees

Hopefully the OP will come back as that would be very helpful to get some answers as I previously stated.  Then we can better help them.

As for their store level, they have answered that at least twice if not more.  Posts 6 & 7 are at least two posts that they did.

I don't assume to know what the OP's schedule is.  They were active yesterday for awhile.  Hopefully they will be back soon.

Sellers have to pay the insertion fee for the second category; it is not charged against their free insertions.

Another poster that posts, won't answer questions, doesn't explain things clearly, won't check anything we suggest they check, and just ignores us for the most part after starting the discussion.  I guess we'll just quit trying to help.  good luck

2nd category listings aren't free............look at the listing form.......

Note............the charge to me is 25c because I have a basic store..........for Premium stores, it's 10c

The OP probably made to the All Transactions tab and found Fees and has been busy as a beaver.

Maybe yes, maybe no.  The OP is an active member of this community.  They were active on the thread yesterday.  It is possible they had something going on today that simply prevents them from coming back to the thread.  Hopefully we will see them again so we can get some answers and try to help.

You're probably correct.  They are an active poster, so I should have worded my rant differently.  They just ignore all the suggestions and questions made.

Re: Getting Killed with Insertion fees

I hope you know that the monthly selling limit is not the same thing as the number of free listings you get with your store subscription. I have a monthly selling limit of 999,000 items but, with no store subscription, I get only 250 free listings per month.
