Feedback

Thank you to everyone who responded to my last question.

I have been wondering about this for quite a while.

My seller stars say 76 or 73. I have sold much more than that, but buyers don't always leave feedback. Especially if they are happy with the transaction.

Is there a way to encourage, force lol people to leave feedback? I am not sure what or when to say anything without sounding awkward.

Thanks.

Mitzi

No, feedback is optional and no one need to leave it.

You start bugging buyers for feedback, you might get then kind you don't want.

Have a great day.

Re: Feedback

Why would people be forced to do something that's optional/voluntary?

And tread lightly when "encouraging" FB.  Some of us are just a little prickly and could leave FB you don't want to see on your FB profile.

Re: Feedback

NO. You will never have as much feedback as the number of items you sold. Typically, you will get at most 1/2 the amount of feedback compared to the amount sold.

Re: Feedback

I have about 1/3 the FB as I have left-- and much of that is from my first 15 years on eBay. The past 10 not so much.

Buyers don't leave FB often.

You can put a small note into each shipment asking if the buyer will leave feedback now that he has his purchase.

Best is to leave FB on shipment and cross all your toes. (It's hard to type with your fingers crossed.)

Re: Feedback

I understand that you'd like to up your feedback numbers a bit, but I'm afraid for everyone it's a slow process - about 30-35% of feedback is left internet-wide. Just be patient and it will trickle in.

You are not really allowed to do much to get feedback without violating eBays policy.

The best thing to do is not worry about it and leave feedback for your buyers and do

your job the best you can. Some buyers will leave feedback and some won't.

There are many ways to encourage buyers to leave optional feedback.

There are also many ways to offend a buyer and motivate him to leave the wrong kind of feedback.

Just curious - what is it that makes you value this optional feedback so much?

You have received 76 feedbacks and you have left 100, that means you are either getting 75% feedback (really high these days) from buyers OR you are waiting for buyers to leave feedback before you reciprocate.

If it's the later then maybe you should be leaving feedback first instead of waiting for buyers because they may be playing the same who goes first game.

Re: Feedback

I look at it this way. I sell, buyer buys, I have their money....the end. LOL

Who doesn't want more feedback....but bugging someone to leave it could just set someone off.

Ive read some people leave a nice little note in the package saying along the lines of "I hope you enjoy your item. If you're so inclined, please remember to leave feedback for your purchase". But again, thats like poking a bear.

Feedback doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. You're here to make money. If you have the money.....your goal has been met.

If you want more "numbers"....purchase inexpensive items to get "buyer" feedback. That will up your numbers.

Merry Christmas!

Re: Feedback

Mitzi; you are either too old or too young to understand 'bean and cheese burrito'.

Keep it simple.

Don't ask for what you DON'T want to know.

Leave it be.

....and all the other sayings that simply say:

Move On and don't EVER look in the rearview mirror.  If you sold it, they got it and they DON'T leave negative feedback or ask for a refund; it's a good day.

I repeat; THAT is a good day.

Re: Feedback

First line of my description says that I will leave a 5 Star FB after you have left yours. Alot of my orders are not shipped with tracking. This way I have some clue that the customer has receiver their order.  Also cuts out the Stress of figuring out how to weasel a FB out of your Cust. I will guess my FB rate is 2/3rds. 1011 FB and I believe I am at 1500 or abouts without looking in a few months. I believe the customer needs to do a little work to get their FB from me as well.

I do my Very best at packaging their order securely and with Pride. The customer will see the extra 3 inches I put into everything to get them Happy about their order.  I also put a personal hand written note stating, "Thank You! Doug."  Good Luck on your FB quest

You could send a demand to the buyer for feedback, that would guarantee they will leave one.............

It will be a negative, but if it is feedback you want, have at it.
