Ebay labels say "hazmat" on them

This is a first.  I use bulk shipping and all my labels are marked hazmat.  I thought maybe I had clicked on something that would have done this but I went back in and purchased an extra label on one just to see and it clearly says "no hazmat material" yet when the label is generated it says "hazmat".  Anyone else having this experience?

Re: Ebay labels say "hazmat" on them

I just printed a single WITHOUT HAZMAT on it like earlier.

Perhaps they are in the process of fixing it but my account is good now.

I just did our shipping... all USPS Ground Advantage, and NONE say HAZMAT on them

I had always assumed that anything shipping out of New Jersey was hazmat by default.

Well, I'm in Ohio now, but I get you. Of course, not everywhere in Jersey is Newark

Just did two more labels... no HAZMAT

Update: I just voided my HAZMAT label and printed a new label. It worked, printed with no HAZMAT on it.

@spreadlovelikefire and others:

According to eBay this problem is fixed, but you'll need to void your affected labels and purchase new ones.

To void a shipping label purchased through eBay, go to this page, find the order and select Cancel from the Actions drop-down. The cancel option is available for 28 days.

It takes between 2-4 weeks to receive a refund on an unused, voided label as the carrier wants to make sure the label isn't used. You'll see the refund on your original source of payment (eBay funds, bank, credit card, etc) and the funds will appear in your account without an email notification.

Oops, too late.  One of mine already left the building.  I did write not hazmat on the label, though. 😐

You should be fine @fern*wood . Look at eBay's pinned announcement on Shipping and Tech boards - they said packages will be delivered by USPS which (I'm making an educated assumption here) most likely indicates eBay flagged affected tracking numbers with USPS to ensure they make it through. 🤷

Re: Ebay labels say "hazmat" on them

I hope they do, best to keep an eye on tracking on any that got shipped with hazmat label. I talked to my mail lady and USPS is serious when it comes to hazmat, their suppose to be packed a certain way, if not they get pulled and destroyed. USPS doesn't mess with it or even open a packages. Straight to the burn box. I'm glad the one day I was running late this morning and labels were fine.

Watch them tracking numbers for sure so no surprises.

Same problem here!  Bulk shipping or single label, did not matter, all say Hazmat.  Now I'm out the  cost of postage until a possible refund happens.  Ended up purchasing new labels through USPS.

Re: Ebay labels say "hazmat" on them

Oh I'm 100% aware of how to cancel a label.  I was upset that I spent over$200 on labels that couldn't be used then was asked to cancel them all and repurchase them all.  I would have had to be out over $400 for labels in 1 day that I didn't have.  I talked to eBay and they cancelled all my labels and refunded me immediately and then I repurchased.  It if was a couple of labels I would have done it but having over$200 floating out there for 4 week during the holidays wasn't ideal.  This was 100% an eBay issue and they resolved it for me.  However, it did take talking to 5 people and was very stressful.  I was told that eBay labels are a privilege.
