Ebay labels say "hazmat" on them

This is a first.  I use bulk shipping and all my labels are marked hazmat.  I thought maybe I had clicked on something that would have done this but I went back in and purchased an extra label on one just to see and it clearly says "no hazmat material" yet when the label is generated it says "hazmat".  Anyone else having this experience?

For folks asking about shipping the packages w/ the Hazmat label; they require an extra sticker/label describing the Hazmat type. You can simply lie about it & print one of those for your package, really doesn't affect anything but the extra label needs to be on the same side of the package as the address label.

If you ship them without the extra label, you would need to get lucky & have both the receiving & delivering local USPS offices let them pass. If one of those holds up your package, it won't be returned to you.

You almost certainly will have to void the old labels and print new ones. Typically takes 2-3 weeks to get refunded on the voided labels.

     One of the other nice features in Pirate Ship is you can purchase the label which will come up on the screen for printing, if there is anything wrong with the label and you cancel the label before you actually print it the refund is instantaneous.

After rethinking this, I agree.  I voided out all of my labels and re-printed them with pirates ship.  What a time for a major screw up like this eBay!  Here's an idea, don't fix things on the site after Nov 1 or before Jan 1 from now on.  Site changes should NEVER be done a month from Christmas let alone a couple of weeks from it.  That is how Amazon does things and you really don't want to be Amazon.

I get it and totally understand.  I guess my thinking is that I would rather have $200 in limbo for a few weeks (which you will get back) than to end up with a bunch of returns for those items because they showed up too late.  It stinks but I would cancel them out and print them with another service like Pirate ship.  It's better than returns where you will be losing both the postage cost and the sale amount.  I just cancelled out all of my labels and re-printed them on pirate ship.  Not worth the risk IMO.

Same here. I have had to temporarily close my shop until eBay support has fixed this. Why are such issues like this so common on eBay? Is it is just their massively collapsing legacy codebase?

Same problem here.  Not bulk shipping here, just individual labels.  I'm gonna ship as is.  Hopefully no problems with the post office.  

     It should not be an issue with the post office but when you drop them off they may slap a couple of other stickers on the package. The problem appears to be only with ground advantage labels. Ground advantage does not always travel ground even though that is what is on the label but hazmat would, I believe, force it to do so possibly extending delivery time.

I canceled every label and reprinted with FedEx which was a $1 or two higher.

Same, I just printed 4 labels that said Hazmat. I then voided them all, thinking it was my mistake. Then I bought another label and it did the same. I don't know if I should just buy and ship them with the Hazmat label but it seems embarrassing and confusing to everyone involved. I would love to know when or if that gets resolved.

     You can always use Pirate Ship to create the labels and upload the tracking to the eBay order. I just shipped a couple of items through Pirate Ship this morning and no hazmat label issues. Pirate Ship has the same discounted rates as eBay and always good to have a backup shipping service in hand. This is not the first issue that has come up with regards to purchasing labels through eBay. I quit using eBay to purchase my shipping labels years ago.

     No need to close your shop just setup a backup shipping service label provider account with a provider like Pirate Ship which has the same discounted rates as eBay. Once you have the label printed upload the tracking number to the eBay order. Always good to have backup in hand this is not the first issue to come up with eBay labels and probably won't be the last. I have not used eBay to create my labels in years.

I just did our shipping... all USPS Ground Advantage, and NONE say HAZMAT on them

I just tried a single label again and it still says "Hazmat" on them.  Maybe you are a lucky one.
